SHOP TIP: Before investing in a new piece of equipment, work through the steps you'll take next. > If you run a large shop that replaces more than one machine annually, it could make sense to simply let the old equipment go. Can you sell it or trade it in for a new machine? Can the old equipment be donated to a local community college or vocational school as a tax write-off? > If you run a small to midsize shop that purchases new equipment only once every year or two, you may find it beneficial to retain your legacy equipment. Formal Education is Crap! Most education given in school or college is filled with unimportant/filler information and is done to make the syllabus bigger so they could charge you more. They teach you slower, waste your time, teach you things with zero practical implications. 4 years of degree in most cases can be done in 2 years or less but that won’t be a good strategy for these non-profit profiting businesses. I really think people are starving for information that they can really use. #educationsystem

2024 mileage rates are as follows: Business use 67 Cents Per Mile, Medical & Moving 21 Cents Per Mile and Service of Charitable Organizations 14 Cents Per Mile. Rates apply to electric, hybrid-electric automobiles, as well as gasoline & diesel-powered vehicles.

Hi y'all - (another) life update: I'm starting an anti-human trafficking non-profit. A major passion of mine is the restoration and preservation of human dignity, value, and respect. Unfortunately, there's a massive need here and I believe that those who can do more should do more. Admittedly combatting human trafficking and child slavery are massive undertakings, so this will be a slow process with a lot of learning and understanding. Any perspective or advice is much appreciated (please!!!) OK industry now is your chance... Summer is over, and school has begun all across our nation. Now is your opportunity to learn of the different automotive, diesel, and collision programs in your area that are taught in the high schools. Let's help those programs get on their feet. First and foremost through your mentorship. Know who the teachers are, find out how you can help the program and set the example by driving your business forward through talking to the students about your companies and the great opportunities you have and help them to learn about the trades. You could help through donations to their programs like a set of tools or a core engine. Often times the schools are not supporting these programs, It is a sad but true reality. It doesn't have to be expensive it just has to be worth it. If you are not able to do the above consider a donation to the Love Trades Foundation. This is an amazing foundation that is supporting students through scholarships to get into a trade school, it is a great way to support your industry and get more students into learning a trade that will change their lives.
