This is my prime time for creativity and efficiency. 🕐 Afternoon Alignments: I reserve afternoons for meetings, ideally. It helps me keep my mornings sacred for deep work. ⏳ Sprint & Break Cycle: I work in 90-minute sprints, followed by a 15/20-minute break. It's like having mini appointments with myself throughout the day, ensuring I stay on track and focused. But here's the secret sauce 🎶: I blend this method with something that brings joy and relaxation into my work—listening to lo-fi/instrumental music. Everyone knows the feeling of looking at your to-do list and wanting to crawl back under the covers. But, we can be more productive than we think. Here are 3 tips for supercharging your productivity. 1. Eat that frog 🐸 Mark Twain said it best: "If it's your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first." In other words, tackle your biggest, most daunting task first. The rest of the day will feel much easier in comparison. 2. Sprints > Marathons 🏃♀️ Human attention span doesn't last for hours on end. Instead, work in short, focused sprints. Example: - Work for 25 minutes - Take a five-minute break - Repeat the cycle four times - Take a 30-minute break This rhythm not only increases focus, but it also makes work feel less overwhelming. 3. One tab at a time 📑 Our brains aren't wired to handle multiple tasks at once. Yet, we often have multiple tabs open, our phone buzzing, and emails piling up. #Timeboxing -- A Useful Way to Be More Productive 😁 ⏲ I've found that Timeboxing isn't just a way to track how much time you spend on tasks; it's a strategy that encourages you to think actively about how you allocate your time. This method helps structure your work efficiently within set time limits and can also serve to know just how much time completing future, similar tasks, actually takes you. 📅 Lately, I've been applying timeboxing to my daily schedule. The goal? To curb the amount of time I spend perfecting every minor detail of my tasks. I'm constantly trying to perform at my best and that desire can actually impede the rate at which I complete some tasks. By setting strict time limits, I focus more on completion rather than perfection. 💫 Integrating timeboxing with other productivity techniques has significantly improved my efficiency. It shifts my focus from trying to work to actually getting work done. After all, time is one of our most precious resources. "Timeboxing?" you might be asking. If you haven’t heard of it, timeboxing is a super simple tool to manage your time better. "How does it work?" It's simple: you allocate fixed time periods to different tasks throughout your day. This way, you can focus on one thing at a time without getting overwhelmed. Here’s why I’m already a big fan of timeboxing: - Improved Focus: Knowing I have a set time to work on a task helps me stay focused and avoid distractions. - Better Time Management: It’s easier to see where my time goes and make sure I’m spending it on what truly matters. - Reduced Stress: Breaking my day into manageable chunks makes everything feel less daunting. Who is timeboxing for? Honestly, anyone who is busy and wants to get more organised and productive! Whether you’re juggling work and family life, running your own business, or just trying to make the most of your day, timeboxing can help.
