The blue-headed wagtail (Motacilla flava flava) is a small passerine bird breeds in a variety of open habitats, such as wet meadows, river valleys, and grasslands across Europe and Asia. During the winter, it migrates to Africa, south of the Sahara, where it inhabits similar open and often wetter habitats. The blue-headed wagtail is known for its distinctive blue-grey head, contrasting with a yellow throat and underparts. It has a slender body, long tail, and pointed wings. The back is olive-green, and there is often a white stripe above the eye. The blue-headed wagtail is primarily insectivorous, feeding on insects and other small invertebrates. It forages by walking on the ground and is often seen bobbing its tail up and down.
Looks like our wild canaries in East Tennessee except their head isn't blue. They're always a beautiful blessing to see.
