Can you tell the difference between grassy weeds, sedges, and broadleaf weeds? Now you can! 😁 Grassy weeds have long, thin leaves arranged in sets of 2 with parallel veins and round, hollow stems. Broadleaf weeds have wide leaves with leaf veins that look netlike, and they produce noticeable flowers. Sedges have a triangular and solid stem with narrow leaves arranged in sets of 3. Knowing the differences is key to selecting the right herbicide for effective weed control. Need help identifying a weed? Share a picture in the comments, and we'll do our best to assist. Don’t forget to share this post so other farmers can benefit too. 😊 #farmerlife #farminglife #sustainablefarming #organicfarming #agriculturetechnique #farmingtechnique #urbanfarming #ruralfarming #farminginnigeria #ruralagriculture #crops #fertilizer #organicfertilizer #cassava #ricefields #cowpeas #oilpalmplantation #maizefarming #cocoafarm #vegetableseeds #vegetablefarm #farmclearing #farmproduce #cropprotectionproducts

Product of the day! PC+ (Contact Pest Control) PC+ Pest Control for growers effectively treats and prevents aphids, ants, whiteflies, mites, leaf miners, and thrips, to name a few. By disrupting the insect cell structure and respiratory membranes, it causes dehydration and suffocation. The natural barrier it creates irritates insects and disrupts their pheromone trail network. Additionally, our non-synthetic product ensures that bugs and plants won’t develop resistance. It can be safely applied to plants with a 0-day (zero) re-entry interval and can be used up until harvest. PC+ is also EPA exempt under FIFRA 25(b). Safe for you, your family, and wildlife. #sierranaturalscience #farming #agriculture #plantpestcontrol #contactpestcontrol

What most midwest farmers should be producing, of course, is that which people actually want - meat - not the soy, not the corn, just the animals, grazed on grass, upon healthy soil, in a flourishing, biodiverse, native prairie ecosystem. That. #corn #soy #meat #soil #prairie #farming #biodiversity

You might not guess it, but mealybugs are actually part of the scale insect family! Unlike most scales, though, they don’t form a hard shell. Instead, they cover themselves in a waxy, fluffy-looking substance that often creates ridges and fringes on their bodies. While females and immatures are wingless and look similar, the males fly and resemble tiny gnats. These pests use their piercing-sucking mouthparts to feed on plant sap, sometimes even spreading harmful plant viruses. A sticky residue called honeydew is often left behind, making it easier to spot a mealybug invasion. Regularly removing weeds before they multiply and cause harm to your farm is very important. FMAN farmers have very little to worry about with weeds as our recommended planting method ensures that the wheat plant population on the farm is adequate enough to drastically reduce the survival chance for weeds. If you don’t weed regularly, you will end up spending more to use chemicals for weed control when the weed population becomes a lot. #farming #farmmaintenance #nigeria
