It is crucial for the public to recognize the significance of maintaining a sufficient blood supply and to respond to the NHS's appeal for donations. 🩸 Every donation has the potential to make a difference in the lives of individuals requiring blood transfusions, whether they are undergoing surgery, receiving treatment for a medical condition, or facing a medical emergency. #ProfDoc #Healthcare #Hiring #UK #GP #JobSearch #JobTrend #UKNews

Becoming an organ donor can save lives and create a lasting legacy. Understanding the differences between living and cadaver donors is essential. 👥 Live kidney or liver donation by family or friends can save lives. Despite the risks, their generosity may speed healing. ☁️ Cadaver donors, who freely donate after death, allow recipients to receive many organs, tissues, and eyes. Although the surgery is safe, donor consent is essential. Every contribution, alive or cadaver, can improve life and hope. Make a well-informed decision and consider becoming an organ donor today. #LivingDonors #CadaverDonors #OrganDonation #OrganDonar #OrganDonationAwareness #Healthcare #HealthTech #HealthSy #SincerelyYours

🕊 Acts of kindness can make a big difference in the world! That's why we've teamed up with the UA Responders Foundation to raise funds to purchase a surgical aspirator. Why are we focusing on surgical aspirators? These devices are crucial in surgery, as they help doctors by clearing fluids and substances from the surgical area, making it easier to see what they're doing. This lowers the risk of infections and complications and improves the overall outcome of surgeries. By joining us in this effort, you're helping hospitals get the necessary equipment to provide better medical care. Our aim is $1000 or 40,000 UAH which will allow us to purchase one aspirator. It's possible for us, right? Even the slightest donation can save lives 🙌🏻 Make your donation: https://lnkd.in/d8H9z-KU #StandWithUkraine

Transforming Lives: Braemar Charitable Trust's Community Surgery Programme The Braemar Charitable Trust’s flagship initiative, the Community Surgery Programme, is a beacon of hope for many in need. This programme involves surgeons and anaesthetists donating their time and expertise to provide free surgeries at Braemar Hospital. The in-hospital costs are fully funded by the Trust. A collaboration between Braemar Hospital, Waikato Hospital (Health New Zealand | Waikato), and the Braemar Charitable Trust saw children on Waikato Hospital’s ENT surgical waiting list receive expedited surgery through Braemar’s Community Surgery Programme. Using the New Zealand Deprivation Index, children with the highest need were prioritised. Since April 2023, 42 children have received surgery at Braemar Hospital, halving the average wait time in the public system to 149 days, compared to the Health New Zealand target of 365 days. Surgeries performed include tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, and middle ear ventilation tube (grommet) procedures. The programme has seen tremendous support from surgeons and anaesthetists, some of whom have become credentialed at Braemar Hospital just to participate. This collaboration highlights the powerful impact that cross-sector partnerships can have in providing timely medical care. The Community Surgery Programme also covers other specialties and welcomes referrals for patients who face long public system wait times, aren’t covered by ACC, or private insurance nor the financial means to fund private treatment. These surgeries can be added to existing private lists or performed during dedicated half-day sessions. Life-changing surgery is a human right for everyone. Australia ranks first among OECD countries for equity and healthcare outcomes according to a Commonwealth Fund report in 2021. It is a reminder that access to life-changing surgery is easy to take for granted. Unfortunately, in the world's poorest countries, their reality is vastly different to what we have in Australia. Step-by-step, we can help change that reality. Today, on Miracles Day, I kindly ask my network to support CBM Australia in helping change people's lives forever. Did you know with just $33 you can change someone’s life forever? It’s true! Your $33 donation on Miracles Day will help CBM Australia restore someone’s sight for life. There are still people living needlessly blind who are desperately waiting for cataract surgery. If you can give up six cups of takeaway coffee, you can save someone’s sight, changing their life forever. Donate at www.cbm.org.au/miracles. #MiraclesDay

Every three minutes a child is born somewhere in the world with a cleft condition. In first-world countries, corrective surgery is usually done within the first 18 months of life. In Southern Africa, where safe surgery is not always freely available or accessible, a child may have to wait years for the chance to live a normal life. Depending on the severity, cleft conditions can be repaired in just 45 minutes. Your donation makes new smiles possible. Did you know? Babies born with cleft may be unable to feed properly, and may suffer from malnutrition and thirst. The risk of death is nine times higher for these children. When you give to Effect Hope, you help transform lives. For example: 👁️ Leprosy can cause blindness due to nerve damage. Your gift can help restore sight through reconstructive surgery. 🤝 Leprosy isolates through stigma and fear. Your gift can help restore connection by helping provide early screening and intervention so people can recover faster. 💵 People often lose their ability to work due to stigma or physical challenges from the disease. Your gift can help restore financial independence through skills training and small business investments. Your donations help provide life-changing healthcare for people with NTDs. 3 Days to go until #WorldKidneyDay! Today our goal is to educate others on the steps involved in becoming a #LivingDonor. The process begins with the profound decision to donate, a step taken by those aiming to significantly change someone's life for the better. The journey continues as potential donors visit kidneysforcommunities.org to fill out a simple online questionnaire, followed by a phone interview with a transplant coordinator to discuss the next steps. This leads to a comprehensive medical evaluation to ensure the donor is fit for donation. When the donor is given the green-light, then surgery is coordinated. This procedure is safe and minimally invasive. The recovery period varies from person to person, but donors often quickly return to their normal lives, supported every step of the way by healthcare professionals. After donation, living donors continue to lead full, active lives, with minimal long-term limitations. This #WorldKidneyMonth, we invite you to visit our website to learn more about our Living Donor Connections. By reading their stories, you can understand their motivations and see the profound impact their generous acts have had on recipients' lives.
