Don't you just hate it when, you go to a jobs fair. Speak to a company who informs you, that you don't need any experience for that job. Encouraging you to apply only to then find out that you didn't have experience. How do you expect to get experience.

Food for thought: Same Jobs Fair Two different experiences: Person A: Arrives unprepared, looks around decides nothing looks appealing, without talking to anyone they leave. They feel that wasn’t worth my time. Person B: Arrives prepared, has their CV ready to hand out. They look around and decide where to start. They take the time to discuss all opportunities with every exhibitor. They hand out copies of their CV, they collect business cards, application forms and contact details from multiple exhibitors. They feel that was a worthwhile event in a room filled with opportunity. Who is getting a call back? Your mindset makes a difference! Make the most of every opportunity. #jobfairs #thejobfairs #positivevibes

Why are we so obsessed with JOB FAIRS it’s something I have always wondered As soon as you talk about a job fair or about someone with a job application platform, students get very excited And I understand why sometimes, it’s because a lot of us think the more opportunities we apply to the stronger chance we hold to get an opportunity But what a lot of do not realize is that it is not how things work The reason you are able to apply for 100s of jobs is because there are 100s of jobs available and so the challenge is not the lack of opportunity but rather the lack of awareness on the right process needed to get those opportunities A big part of it is the mindset and realizing what is important and a priority vs what is secondary So next time, don’t just jump to it because it’s a job fair but because applying and starting to send out applications- network, grow your brand, identify your purpose and communicate that to attract the right opportunities So that you are going into it prepared and aware and not just seeing it as just another job on the market where you do not even know much about the company Because guess what, when you do taht, it’s very easy for the company to also to treate you the same I.e., just another candidate out of 10,000 others And when you don’t receive a rejection email so complain of how the company does not do their part but think about if you did your part as well I am not saying they are right but I am saying we are sometimes ourselves not doing what is needed but still expecting What are your thoughts? Have you been guilty of applying mindlessly to opportunities just because it’s another one on the market #students #tips #reality

Attending a job fair can be a golden ticket to your dream career. Here's how to stand out: Dress to impress - Your attire speaks volumes before you even introduce yourself. Opt for smart, professional attire that aligns with the industry standard. Master the art of networking - Job fairs aren't just about handing out CVs; they're about making connections. Engage in meaningful conversations, share your passions, and ask insightful questions. Personalise your approach - Before the fair, research the companies that will be there. Tailor your CV and elevator pitch to reflect how your skills can address their specific needs. Balance is key - Whilst it's great to meet as many employers as possible, quality interactions trump quantity. Focus on forging genuine connections with a select few rather than fleeting encounters with many. Be prepared - Bring ample copies of your CV, a notebook, and a pen. Take notes during discussions as they can be invaluable for personalised follow-up messages. Remember, job fairs are unique platforms to meet a diverse array of employers face-to-face. #JobHunting #CareerFair #NetworkingSuccess
