Download NCLEX-RN Examination Book (PDF) 1. Active Learning Active learning involves engaging with the material through discussion, practice, and application rather than passive reading. Techniques like group study sessions, teaching the material to others, and applying concepts in clinical scenarios can significantly enhance your understanding. 2. Use Mnemonics Mnemonics are memory aids that help you recall complex information. Create acronyms, rhymes, or visual associations to remember medical terms, drug classifications, and procedures. For example, the acronym "ABCDE" can help you remember the steps of the primary survey in emergency care: Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, Exposure. 3. Practice NCLEX-Style Questions Familiarize yourself with the format and types of questions you'll encounter on the NCLEX-RN exam. Use online resources and practice books that offer NCLEX-style questions. 4. Create a Study Schedule Plan your study sessions in advance and stick to a consistent schedule. Allocate specific times for reading, reviewing notes, practicing questions, and taking breaks. A structured routine helps you cover all topics systematically and reduces last-minute cramming. 5. Utilize Visual Aids Visual aids like diagrams, charts, and flashcards can make complex information more understandable and easier to remember. Draw out processes, such as the cardiac cycle or the steps of wound healing, to visualize how they occur. 6. Join Study Groups Collaborate with classmates to share insights, clarify doubts, and quiz each other. Study groups provide diverse perspectives and can help you grasp difficult concepts more effectively. 7. Take Regular Breaks Avoid burnout by incorporating regular breaks into your study sessions. The Pomodoro Technique, which involves 25 minutes of focused study followed by a 5-minute break, can help maintain your concentration and productivity. 8. Focus on Understanding, Not Memorization Aim to understand the underlying principles and mechanisms rather than just memorizing facts. This deeper understanding will enable you to apply your knowledge in clinical scenarios and critical thinking exercises. 9. Use Online Resources Take advantage of online resources such as educational videos, podcasts, and interactive modules. Websites like Khan Academy, YouTube channels, and nursing forums offer valuable content that can supplement your textbooks. 10. Self-Assessment and Reflection Regularly assess your progress by taking practice tests and quizzes. Reflect on your performance, identify areas of improvement, and adjust your study strategies accordingly. Conclusion By incorporating these effective study techniques into your routine, you can enhance your learning experience and achieve academic success in your nursing courses.

Why Bundle of Rays? What do we do? In the evolving field of nursing education, the integration of simulation-based training alongside innovative tools like Metaverse platforms, Artifical Intelligence, 360-degree video platforms, soft skills development modules, and comprehensive anatomy platforms is reshaping how we prepare our future healthcare professionals. This blended approach not only enhances the educational experience but also brings a wealth of benefits to both students and educators. Simulation-Based Training: At the heart of this integrated curriculum is simulation-based training, which offers hands-on experience in a controlled, risk-free environment. This method allows nursing students to apply theoretical knowledge to practice, enhancing their clinical decision-making and procedural skills. By simulating real-life scenarios, students gain the confidence and competence needed for high-quality patient care. Metaverse Platforms: The incorporation of Metaverse platforms introduces an immersive, interactive world where students can engage in collaborative learning experiences. These virtual environments foster a sense of community and teamwork, essential components in nursing education. The Metaverse can simulate complex healthcare settings, offering a deeper understanding of the dynamics within healthcare teams and patient interactions. 360-Degree Video Platforms: Utilizing 360-degree video platforms in nursing education offers an unparalleled visual and immersive learning experience. These videos place students in the middle of clinical scenarios, allowing them to observe procedures and environments from every angle. This perspective helps in understanding the spatial dynamics of patient care and the importance of environmental awareness in healthcare settings. Soft Skills Development: Equally important in nursing education is the development of soft skills such as communication, empathy, teamwork, and leadership. Integrating soft skills training modules into the curriculum ensures that students are not only clinically proficient but also equipped to handle the emotional and interpersonal aspects of patient care. These skills are critical for building patient trust, working effectively in healthcare teams, and leading with compassion. Anatomy Platforms: Comprehensive anatomy platforms provide interactive, detailed explorations of the human body, enhancing the learning experience beyond traditional textbooks. These platforms offer 3D models, virtual dissections, and interactive elements that help students understand complex anatomical structures and their functions. Such deep anatomical knowledge is foundational to effective nursing practice, enabling precise assessments and interventions. This holistic approach with a balanced emphasis on both simulation and other innovative educational tools, offers a multifaceted learning experience that addresses the diverse skills required in modern healthcare. 📃Scientific paper: Undergraduate Nursing Students Endorse Education Standards in Blended e-Learning Theory Teaching during Covid-19 Pandemic Abstract: Aim: The aim of this study was to survey student learning perspectives as measured by ‘student satisfaction’ following the rapid introduction of remote blended e-learning into the existing undergraduate nursing curriculum at Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia. Background: National legislation resulting from the spread of Covid-19 required all theoretical and practical nurse training to move immediately to online provision using an unfamiliar e-learning environment and associated tools. Objective: The objective of this study was to use a validated satisfaction questionnaire developed elsewhere, but within a similar educational context involving both theoretical and practical components, for the purpose of checking that educational objectives were being satisfactorily achieved across five relevant domains of educational enquiry, and to use survey findings to improve the online delivery of the nursing program in future academic years. Methods: A validated 35 item questionnaire was circulated on-line to all male and female nursing students in their 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of study. The questionnaire content was subdivided into the five domains of ‘Interaction’, ‘Instruction’, ‘Instructor’, ‘Course Management’ and ‘Technology’. Descriptive and comparative statistics were used to compare levels of satisfaction between genders and among undergraduate years of study, and against findings from undergraduate information technology undergraduates. Findings: 199 female and 84 ma... Continued on ES/IODE ➡️ https://etcse.fr/NX4S ------- If you find this interesting, feel free to follow, comment and share. Prehospital Educators: Does it feel like your FR/EMR/Paramedic students are never as competent as you would like them to be? Refocusing our teaching efforts back to fundamentals designed for successfully navigating the Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous [VUCA] world of prehospital care [not just 'best practices for adult post-secondary education'] is a useful starting point. Here are several essentials that are prominent in my classroom: TRAIN FACE-TO-FACE. LITERALLY. Online learning, training mannikins and high fidelity simlabs are unquestionably necessary. Yet prehospital care is Close Quarter Battle [CQB]. Sweaty. Messy. And interactional between live humans with dandruff, odoriferous breath and... personalities. One solution? I provide viral filters/alcohol wipes/clean BVMs so students can actually ventilate each other properly for several minutes learning and experimenting with airway positioning, situational awareness and anxiety. Think buddy-breathing in SCUBA class. [Important note: I always go first. Nothing undermines trust than a leader/coach opting out of difficult drills.] TRAIN FOR AMBIGUITY. Paramedics don't face patients with single well-defined medical/trauma conditions listed on the top right corner of a scenario sheet. One solution? I provide theme-less scenarios with no clear pathology where the actor/patient complains of 'diffuse body pain' or 'everything hurts' then let my students do the cognitive heavy-lifting. Frustrating? Absolutely. So is life. CREATE AN ERROR-RICH ENVIRONMENT: Making your program easy may get high praise from students posting online reviews. But you undermine future downstream retention and performance if success isn't coupled with appropriate difficulty. Errors + student reflection = genuine learning. One solution? I give students ~4 minutes to complete a set of vitals on a classmate...the catch? Their dominant hand is wrapped in a tensor bandage. Or find 9mm shell casings on each other during a trauma assessment, blindfolded. [See photo]. Turn off the lights. Turn up the noise. Actually ventilate each other. Go outside. Make them work solo as rapid response with no transport capability. Use actors with second language skills. But be plausible. If a modern paramedic program doesn't actively address and teach Volatility, Ambiguity, Complexity and Uncertainty Management, perhaps it's not the students who are incompetent. Just a thought. ~george Photo credit: author's own [blindfold trauma assessments].

New Publication Alert! 📣 The application of case-based learning with microlectures and flipped classroom teaching methods in the teaching of physiology to nursing undergraduates #IETI_Journal By Lu et al. A blended teaching mode is necessary to improve the study efficiency of nursing students. This study aimed to explore the effects of the use of case-based learning (CBL), involving microlectures and flipped classroom teaching methods (flipped CBL mode), via online tools on the teaching of physiology to nursing undergraduates. A total of 207 nursing undergraduates were divided into a control group and a flipped CBL group. The control group received lecture-based learning, while the flipped CBL group received flipped CBL. The results showed that the final exam scores of the flipped CBL group were higher than those of the control group. The majority of nursing students believed that the flipped CBL model could provide guidance for future clinical practice, and could help in their study of physiology. Thus, the use of flipped CBL mode may improve the quality of teaching of physiology and enhance the comprehension and clinical thinking skills of nursing students. https://lnkd.in/gQstCmpZ
