What’s the deal with methane abatement? 🤔 If you didn’t know, methane abatement is the reduction or destruction of volatile methane emissions using specific technologies and techniques. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the global energy sector was responsible for nearly 135 million tons of methane emissions in 2022. That is why a strong push exists to reduce emissions in this sector, presenting a significant opportunity for methane abatement projects to help the energy industry move towards net zero. 🌎 By capturing harmful emissions and converting them into renewable energy, we can protect the environment, enhance safety, and promote cleanliness in our communities. Methane abatement projects pave the way for a sustainable and healthier future for generations to come. That’s why we were thrilled to help contribute to Qnergy's innovative methane destruction system with burner & combustion management solutions. Are you thinking about developing a methane abatement system? Discover how you can use burner & combustion management solutions to combat volatile methane emissions: https://lnkd.in/gSwck-F9

Carbon intensity is a common industry term, but what does it represent? Carbon intensity is a way to measure the lifecycle emission rate of a certain activity or production process. Every fuel has a certain carbon intensity that is associated with its use to create energy. For example, fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas generally have higher carbon intensities compared to renewable fuels like RNG and hydrogen. As we work towards a lower carbon future it is important to fully understand where greenhouse gases are being emitted and find opportunities to lower them. One of way of reducing greenhouse gases is use of energy from renewable resources. #Decarbonization #Hydrogen #RenewableEnergy

🌍🛢️ The Environmental Impact of Oil & Gas: Can We Move Forward Responsibly? 🌱💧 The oil and gas industry is a cornerstone of the global economy, powering our transportation, manufacturing, and heating. However, its environmental impact is undeniable. Here's a look at some key concerns: Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Air and Water Pollution & Habitat Destruction 🚫🌳🏭 These are serious challenges, but the industry is also taking some steps towards a more sustainable future: Renewable Energy Integration: Oil and gas companies are increasingly investing in renewable energy sources like wind and solar power. ☀️💨 Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS): This technology captures carbon emissions from power plants and stores them underground, potentially reducing the industry's net emissions. 🌱🌫️ Methane Reduction: Methane is a potent greenhouse gas leaked during oil and gas production. Initiatives are underway to detect and reduce methane leaks throughout the supply chain. 🚫💨 The path forward requires a multi-pronged approach. Continued innovation in clean energy technologies, stricter regulations on emissions, and responsible practices by oil and gas companies are all crucial. 🔄💡 #OilAndGas #Sustainability #ClimateChange
