Falling In Love 🥰 Again I fell in love with it as a graduate student Saint Joseph's University in 2002 and I promised myself I would figure out how to make it a part of my professional career at some point. Now in 2024, I will. I first had to contact Herrmann corporate offices and learn the steps to becoming a certified practitioner. I did, interviewed, and have been officially invited to become a certified practitioner!!! Now, it’s getting the application submitted and going through the certification process. “Whole Brain® Thinking is a theory that’s been around since the 1970’s. It focuses on the thinking preferences of different people and it aims to enlighten training professionals and learners on the nuances of the brain when learning. Tremendously popular, it’s one of the most common approaches to learning. It can help you identify the best practices for training and make your eLearning much more impactful and engaging. It’s simple to understand too. Even training beginners can get insights and implement some of the practices of this theory.” “Developed by Ned Herrmann, Whole Brain® Thinking divides the brain into four quadrants. Each quadrant represents a different part of the brain: Analytical, Practical, Relational, Experimental. While everybody has these quadrants, it advocates that we all have a preferred way of thinking without even realizing it. Some of us like to think outside the box, be creative. While others just want the straight up facts. It explains why some learners accelerate in certain areas and may struggle in others.” I’m excited to get to take what I started 22 years ago to a new level and immerse myself back in the world of adult learning & training. I love 💕 that I kept my passion and silent promise to myself and get to use my experience and education to help others around the world. #wholebrainthinking #adultlearning #training #development #education #knowledge #preferences #choices #decisions #growthmindset The four-color, four quadrant graphic and Whole Brain® are registered trademarks of Herrmann Global, LLC. © 2015 Herrmann Global, LLC

#3 Elevator pitch –be able to communicate the value evaluation brings to the mission in 30 seconds Instructional designers know we bring value to the training space, but I often see challenges when it comes to expressing that value to leaders and coworkers. My recommendation: figure out how to describe the value you bring in 30 seconds. Have a few back up sound bytes, as well, to serve as supporting facts for your case. Less than a week from now, I am presenting a case study on the Kirkpatrick (R) Four Levels in Special Warfare Training. It's important to me to inspire attendees to take back actionable steps they can implement for future impact and I have distilled my advice into ❗ FIVE steps ❗ #3 is above. If you want to learn the other four, join me in person or virtually at 0900 EDT, 5 June at the Kirkpatrick Summit. https://lnkd.in/g3KY5WgW

The learning cycle proposed by Kolb is experiential in that the focus is upon the value of experience to learning. What is also distinctive about this model is that reflection forms part of a wider set of processes, rather than the model being used purely concerned with reflection. Below mentioned are the 4 components of Kolb’s Experiential Learning Model ♦️ Concrete Experience ♦️ Reflective Observation ♦️ Abstract Conceptualisation ♦️ Active Experimentation Reflective practice is the cornerstone of professional development, no matter what field you are in. As curious learners, we are all committed to thinking about ourselves and our behaviors and making these experiences meaningful through review, to improve performance, learn lessons and avoid repeating the same mistakes. Practice and experience reflective journaling in our workshop.
