Our Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has continued to emphasize on the importance of good and sustainable ESG policies, with multifaceted policies (including reducing carbon emissions, promoting social equity, creating new growth opportunities in the green economy, and ensuring transparent governance). For the construction and property development industry, particularly in Malaysia, where are we heading to? Financial institutions also play an integral role in providing favorable incentives for those that meet specific ESG score cards.
Malaysia's Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on 23 June 2024 has reiterated the government's commitment to reducing Malaysia's carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices. "We have implemented multifaceted policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, promoting social equity, creating new growth opportunities in the green economy, and ensuring transparent governance." "To this effect, we have allocated substantial funds towards renewable energy, investing in clean and sustainable energy sources", PM Anwar Ibrahim further adds. How is your company and management preparing yourself for incoming ESG and sustainable practices, which will over time be a key consideration in your clients assessing whether to do business with you and your company? Join us and more than 500 corporate stakeholders in one of Malaysia's largest ESG Green Build Conference on 23 July 2024, co-organised by GreenRE Sdn Bhd and REHDA Institute, with confirmed presence of YB Nik Nazmi (National Resources & Environmental Sustainability Minister). Notable local and international speakers that will be sharing their insights include: - Datin Seri Sunita Rajakumar (Climate Governance Malaysia, and Independent Director of various listed Bursa Malaysia listed companies); - Dr Hezri Adnan (Bursa Malaysia); - Rosman Hamzah (Rosergy Consulting) - Toontam Sukosit (EM Group Thailand) - Akin Vorpongthorn (EM Group Thailand) Together, let us work together to build a more sustainable and equitable Malaysia for future generations.
