Fourth CAADP Biennial Review Brief: Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Region! Four Biennial Reviews (BR) have been conducted—the inaugural BR in 2017, the second BR in 2019, the third BR in 2021, and the most recent BR concluded in 2023. This brief outlines the performance of the SADC region and its Member States in advancing the seven Malabo Declaration commitments based on the BR's fourth report. 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐑 New BASIC Research and Irish Aid working paper outlines social protection and conflict-sensitivity directions in the context of #Mozambique, where there are high levels of poverty and climatic emergencies. This report contains an overview of the main conflict-sensitive concerns for social protection programmes and implementation modalities in Mozambique at the regional, local, and programme levels. Register Now: Mediating Communal Conflicts - (18 Units) Over the years we have seen different conflicts in Nigeria, however, the most prevalent are the communal disputes. Nigeria been a multi-ethnic society is bound to have diverse ethnic and religious disputes. These communal conflicts have deteriorated to the point of distorting regional and national peace and security. The impacts of these crises have especially been the loss of lives, the displacement of people and the destruction of properties. With these conflicts evolving over the years, the greatest challenge in resolving communal conflicts is how to maintain a healthy balance between both sides of the divide. What this course aims to do is to analyze the causes of communal conflicts, factors that cause escalation of communal conflicts, learning how to balance the differences, wills, and capabilities of the disputing individuals, groups or communities and how mediators can provide multi-faceted solutions to aid both parties arrive at mutually satisfying and sustainable solutions. As we reflect on this project, it’s crucial to consider whether the immediate needs of education, health, and infrastructure might serve our nation more effectively in the long run. Let's ask ourselves: should national resources be spent on monumental symbols, or should they address the pressing challenges facing everyday Ghanaians? What would benefit us most as a nation?
