On the occasion of Women's Day, it is crucial to reflect on the numerical data that highlights both positive strides and areas that demand improvement. The data below offers estimated figures to encapsulate these details: 1. The Drive for Progress: Only 5.1% of CEOs in India's top 400 listed companies are women, with a marginal increase from 3.4% in 2018. Board seats held by women, including independent and executive directors, stand at 18.3%, a rise from 13.8% in 2018 but below the global average of 23.3% in 2023. When we talk about career challenges 70% of women cite work-life balance as a major obstacle to career advancement. Despite this, women-led businesses exhibit over double the return on investment, proving the impact of female leadership. 2. Economic Implications: Enabling a 5.9% increase in women joining the workforce could boost emerging markets by up to 8%. 3. Pay Disparities: In 2019, women earned only 51 cents for every dollar earned by men, constituting just 34% of total earned labor income. The "motherhood penalty" contributes significantly to the gender pay gap. 4. Tech Industry Snapshot: Women hold only 26.7% of tech-related jobs, with a decrease in the last 2 years. In software engineering, women make 0.93 cents for every dollar earned by men. Gender inequality, discrimination persist in male-dominated tech environments. Greg Powell.... 💯 Legit! Even with a wealth of AWS Certifications and a strong foundation in Computer Science, grappling with imposter syndrome is not uncommon. It's imperative to recognize that your capabilities extend beyond academic qualifications. On my first semester of my double degrees of Business/Computer Science I had a GPA 2.6 on my BA way below GPA 4.0 and Computer Science GPA 3.8 but I have soldiered on my business degree 2nd semester to 3.8 while acing on the Computer Science degree, but still self-doubt creeps in when I have embarked on my new journey in cloud industry so you're not alone (Professionals out there). Drawing from experience as an on-premises HD, Sys Admin, and Project Administrator, and Network Engineer, your practical skills are augmented by nuanced understanding of system administration intricacies. In addition to technical prowess, review and acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how small, and celebrate your successes. Your arsenal excellent includes interpersonal and communication skills, honed through hands-on experience for example customer service skills. These attributes not only contribute to your professional toolkit but also position you as a well-rounded professional capable of navigating complex tasks with finesse. Remember, your journey is marked by a combination of comprehensive expertise and interpersonal finesse, making you well-suited for the success you pursue. Having touched pretty much my skills and experience in the IT industry over a decade but still consider myself a rookie in this rapidly evolving technology, so please you're NOT in a race, take your time to learn properly, and put your hands-on labs, and build projects in the cloud to strengthen your skills and to overcome self-doubt or imposter syndrome.
