Unlock Your Full Potential: A Mental Fitness Coaching Journey for High-Achieving Professionals Managing ADHD
The incredible importance of listening. We shouldn’t just jump into solution mode during conversations, no matter how obvious the answer may be… But rather, we should let people have the opportunity to talk and be heard #LifeCoach #emotionalintelligence #listen #adhdwomen #adhdcoach #adhd #neurospicy #relatable #adhdproblems #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #adhdsquad #adhdinwomen #fyp #adhdawareness #adhdtok #adhdcheck #add #womensupportingwomen

Today’s therapy share is from Leslie Terrell, CSH assistant director of speech services. 🦈🪸🌊 One way to engage children in speech therapy activities is through sensory exercises. Children love hands-on activities, and this one also introduces several vocabulary words as well. Using a bin filled with water and ocean animals, our little ones can practice saying words like - Open/close - In/out - Stir/shake/swim/splash This activity also allows children to make autonomous choices when deciding which animal to put in the water and practice exclamatory words like ‘wow’ and ‘whoa’ or description words like wet, cold, colors and sizes. #ColumbusSpeechandHearing #CSH #SpeechTherapy

Consultant Psychiatrist I Director Mindsight Clinic Australia I Purpose-driven I Vision-led Healthcare Services Innovator
I’ve been thinking of why there’s a shortage of psychiatrists in the private sector. In my thinking, I’ve come to understand that there may not necessarily be a shortage of psychiatrists per se, but the shortage lies in the RESOUCRCE OF PSYCHIATRIC EXPERTISE. What do I mean by this? Psychiatrists add value by: - bringing a bio psychosocial lens to mental health assessment, formulation and treatment as a result of their medical training - are able to prescribe medications where needed, and theoretically have advanced psychopharmacological strategies which include knowing when and how to rationalise medications, not just adding more and more - are able to clarify diagnoses especially when severe mental illness may be present concurrent with higher prevalence conditions Unfortunately, a significant proportion of private psychiatrists spend a lot of their time reviewing patients who do not necessarily require a psychiatrist at that point, having been stabilised. The term that might be applied is “over servicing”. Their books are full of patients who may simply require a new script, for a medication their GP may be unwilling or unable to prescribe; who would be better served seeing a psychologist or therapist and more. It’s easy money for psychiatrists. Controversial? Maybe. But I would like to throw a challenge out to my psychiatrist colleagues - are we best using ourselves as resources, hanging on to patients who don’t need us, to fulfill selfish reasons? Or are we finding ways to accept challenging, complex patients that are in need of us? #useit #mentalhealthservices

So insightful for those of us in education but also all environments/industries … providing insights into how those on the ASC spectrum are so affected by the world around them !!! This item gives us more clues and so we must think of how we can make environments safer; be more empathetic and make a difference … if noise … smell etc affects an individual, so unduly … it is understandable : why an individual cannot leave their room … house …. ‘Safer … quieter and less trauma inducing !’ Many of the young people I work with are struggling with CPTSD ; …. Recognising this is the first step … more needs to be done by institutions and those of us that work within! ▶️ Watch this reel
