Clarivate Librarians need book category system, a kind of metadata, to find the book wanted. Whatever data solution it may be, extracting meaningful information from unstructured text, especially multilingual unstructured text, needs multilingual metadata. Is there any data solution, AI or NOT, that can answer the following questions of business intelligence? "Who, in the Ontario province of Canada, have new US patents granted on the nearest Tuesday (Eastern Time), when the USPTO releases the newly granted US patents on a weekly basis?" "Who, in the "江蘇" province of China, have new US patents granted on the nearest Tuesday (Eastern Time), when the USPTO releases the newly granted US patents on a weekly basis?" With our intellectual property (IP), a Chinese-English multilingual metadata, we can get the full list answers for the above questions. This is a fact. Do you or any of your contacts need our expertise/IP to do the data analysis that AI can't do? Metadata is an enabler. It is like a treasure map for treasure hunting. Without metadata, like a treasure map, NO data can be found/retrieved, even by the most advanced technologies, like AI, high-end chips, supercomputers, etc. https://lnkd.in/g-aJFnXR

🚀 AI: Unlocking New Possibilities in Academic Research 🔍 In the recent Clarivate 2024 Report, I had the opportunity to share my perspective on AI in research, where I said that scientists should use the potential of humanity's collective knowledge represented by AI, which surpasses any individual intellect ( Clarivate. (2024). Pulse of the Library 2024, p.8. https://lnkd.in/ecDi_2Ct ) 🤖 This belief drives my passion for AI’s role in academic libraries and its potential to revolutionise how we approach research. 🌍 Over 60% of academic libraries are currently evaluating or planning to implement AI tools. In line with their mission, libraries aim to implement AI to achieve key goals, including supporting student learning (52%), enhancing research excellence (47%), and improving content discoverability (45%). AI can support researchers in identifying gaps in research by analysing literature, data, and citations on a scale unattainable for humans 📚🤖. It helps in identifying trends 📈, niche topics 🔍, and generating new research questions 💡. AI also enables automated systematic reviews, making it more efficient to detect gaps in knowledge 🔄✨. AI can also support authors in writing comprehensive abstracts ✍️, managing references 📚, and helping non-English-speaking researchers enhance their academic writing. Of course, this technology must be used responsibly, with answers carefully verified for accuracy. ⚖️ So, how do you see AI shaping the future of research? 🤔 Share your thoughts and let’s discuss below!👇 #AI #AcademicLibraries #ResearchSupport #AIinResearch #Clarivate #Innovation
