UAE's MICE sector is poised for expansion.
The UAE's MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market is set to soar, projected to grow from $5.65 billion in 2024 to a staggering $10.01 billion by 2031, according to a report by Coherent Market Insights.
Seizing this opportunity, InterContinental Dubai Festival City has unveiled its newly revamped ‘The Event Centre’ after a significant investment, positioning itself as a top-tier destination for MICE events in the region.
This transformation is part of the ‘Events by InterContinental’ initiative, designed to meet the burgeoning demand for world-class event spaces in Dubai. As the city accelerates its drive to become a global MICE hub, the enhanced facilities at The Event Centre and Festival Arena stand ready to attract a diverse array of events, from international conferences to grand exhibitions.
With 15,000 sq.m of versatile event space, the revamped venue offers something for every occasion. The Festival Arena boasts a 7,200 sq.m pillarless facility, perfect for large conventions and concerts accommodating up to 9,000 guests. Meanwhile, the 5,000 sq.m Event Centre, with its waterfront ballrooms and panoramic views of the historic Dubai Creek and the city skyline, promises an unforgettable backdrop for any gathering. For those seeking more intimate settings, the 1,150 sq.m venue at Holiday Inn & Suites provides adaptable options for various budgets.
The launch event saw key figures like Haitham Mattar, Managing Director of IHG, and Jonathan Timms, President of Al Futtaim Real Estate, highlight the venue’s role in elevating Dubai’s status as a premier global MICE destination. Thomas Schmelter, Area General Manager of IHG Hotels, emphasized that the state-of-the-art facilities, including the largest built-in LED screen and advanced projection systems, will provide unparalleled experiences, aligning with Dubai’s vision for sustainable growth.
This strategic expansion not only enhances Dubai's event offerings but also reinforces its position as a vibrant hub for global business, innovation, and culture.
