Connecting and telling the stories of social impact using evidence and design | VP-Evidence Generation | Credentialed Evaluator | Strategic Designer
Summertime has always been interesting to me in terms of work and creativity. I find that the breaks that come from the different cadence of our work—due to vacations (us or others), holiday weekends, kids at home (or at camp), travels, and general changes in 'vibes' among people—compound over time. It's not just my breaks but those of the people I work with and collaborate with. It's at this time that I most clearly witness the benefits of a culture of rest, refreshment, and the new perspectives that come from travel or time away from the computer for me and my team and collaborators. My question -- and I'd love your thoughts -- is that (if you see something similar or agree, or even disagree): is this effect more pronounced because of its seasonality (i.e., summer only), or is it something we can design into the rest of the year? Would that still produce the same magic? I'd welcome your thoughts. Happy creating and happy summer. #organizationdesign #creativity

I always look forward to summer for a variety of reasons. Living just a few meters from the sea allows me the luxury of enjoying beach with my family after work, a simple pleasure that highlights summer for me. 🏖 🏖 However, there's something else rewarding about the summer, but looking from a business aspect this time. It often means fewer meetings in my calendar, providing me with different opportunities. 🗓 ⏰ Lot of people find hard to motivate themselves during these hot days, however I never had a problem with it, it was always the other way around. 🤔 👉 During this period, I usually engage more heavily in tracking market trends and developing ideas that have otherwise been on hold. Summer somehow turns out to be the most creative and productive time of the year for me, and it's been like that for years. While I am looking forward to a vacation coming in two weeks, I know I'll miss this peak productivity in the months to follow. I always do. 📈 How does summer impact your business and working habbits? Feel free to share your experience. #workingsummer #split #croatia #productivity

It’s officially summer vacation for my boys, so I gave them advice to make the most of this vibrant season—but the advice also seems fitting to be successful in business too. ✅ Stay Curious: Summer is a time to explore new places and activities. Never stop seeking new knowledge and experiences. Curiosity drives innovation. ✅ Balance Fun and Responsibility: Enjoy the freedom of summer but remember that balance is key. In business, maintaining a balance between work and personal life encourages wellbeing and sustained success. ✅ Build Relationships: Use the summer to strengthen friendships. Similarly, in business, building and nurturing relationships are crucial for growth and collaboration. ✅ Embrace Challenges and Take Risks: Whether it's trying a new sport or tackling a tough business problem, get outside your comfort zone. Facing challenges head-on builds resilience and confidence. To my boys, and to all of you in the business world, I hope you embrace the warmth, the adventures, and the opportunities to learn and grow. These lessons are just as valuable in business as they are in life. What summer advice did I miss?

Intrapreneurial Chief People Officer HRS GROUP / Driving transformative People Management and Operations for better Business
13 years at one company - doesn't it get boring? This question often comes up in interviews or from people curious about my long tenure. They wonder if staying in one place might be an antidote to the constant change in today’s job market. For me, it's quite the opposite. The real question isn't why I stay, but what keeps me here. When I started at HRS Group, we were in version 2.0. Today, we're entering 4.0, evolving into an AI-powered Travel Tech Company. Everything has changed - the value proposition, expansion, velocity and ways of working. The company I joined is not the same one I work for today. That’s the sort of magic: a place of constant transformation where change is the only constant. Nowadays, staying with one company might seem unusual, given that job-hopping has become the norm. But staying isn't about settling; it's about taking on new responsibilities, rising up to the occasion and driving change from within. It’s about evolving with the company and making an impact. My career here has “zigzagged” from Brand Marketing to CEO of the E-Commerce division and now to CHRO. Each role brought new challenges and opportunities, ensuring that boredom never had a chance to set in. This path has given me a richer understanding of the business and strategic insights I wouldn't have gained otherwise. To be frank, HRS is not for everyone. It’s not for those who just want a job to make a living. It's for those who practice adaptability and want to be part of a mission-driven community. Ask anyone from the HRS Tribe or our alumni what makes us special, and they'll tell you: it's the people. Our global network of united, responsible individuals who see themselves as “Tribe of Intrapreneurs,” committed to enhancing business life, supporting each other and thriving together. I am truly grateful to be part of this remarkable journey. Between the pixels of past and present lies a decade rich with transformation. Yet, some things remain the same: our unwavering dedication to continuous learning and making the lives of people in business better. Perhaps, at its core, that’s what unites HRS and me. #anniversary #throwback #career

Sales + Marketing Coach | Empowering Women to Own Their Brand & Achieve Freedom 🌈 Ex-Advertising. Here to help you to show up authentically, be seen as the brand you are, and confidently call in new clients.
SUMMER VACATIONS ARE REAL. Years ago I had an idea - Summer Vacation for employees (it was for Frooti) when I worked at Creativeland Asia This idea never made it. For obvious reasons, GDP will be affected, not practical, etc. But a part of me always questioned it. Why have we been trained from school and college years to take a break often if, as adults, we are never going to live that life? Years later, after I've left advertising, I can say. I DO GET SUMMER VACATIONS as an adult now. I have worked on getting that freedom while making $10K/month. I am building a business that lets me work on my terms, with breaks that I want, without affecting how much I make. So, I'm proud of the fact that I questioned it then and glad that I could make it here today. Thank you for advertising and for teaching me to ask, never settle, to grow, and a lot more. #sorrynotsorry #advertisingandmarketing #coachingjourney #coachingwomen #coachingonline #womenentrepreneurs

Summer is here 🌞 How are you adapting? To a certain extent we are shaped by our environment...the culture we operate in, other people around us, rules / expectations / norms.... But the weather is often an important factor too. This week we suddenly find ourselves living and working in a warm environment and we find ourselves shifting and adapting to it. Probably quite naturally. - Opening windows or turning on the fan or AC - Cold drinks instead of hot - Wearing less / different clothes - Enjoying a few minutes in the sunshine during breaks We are often much more adaptable than we give ourselves credit for 😊 How can we learn from this current summer experience to bring other positive changes into our work and our lives? Maybe something to think as we are enjoying a moment of sunshine 😎

Former Senior Adviser to Kamala Harris. Founder of Authentic. Organizer of White Dudes for Harris. Raised $1B+ in small-dollar online donations. Expert in AI, emerging tech, digital advertising. Mental health advocate.✌️
We've had a four-day work week at Authentic for a few months now & so far our experiment has been a success. Our clients have been incredibly supportive & our staff continue to deliver creative, award-winning work for every campaign & organization at the highest level. I've said it before and I will say it again, we don’t have a talent problem in the social impact space — we have a retention problem. By not creating workplaces where people can thrive personally & professionally, we’re chasing people away to industries with better hours, better benefits, & better work-life harmony. Whether we mean to or not, we take advantage of people’s genuine passion to create change in the world — but like many things that passion is not enough to sustain a career. Burnout is killing this industry and I believe the path forward includes trying out new initiatives like a four-day work week. Maybe I’m crazy, but I think we’re on to something. I’m excited to see our pilot program evolves throughout the year & I promise to share more as we go.

We’ve launched! On Wednesday, September 4th, VISIT DENVER kicked off its first-ever workforce development initiative called “Boredom is Fired”—because, as many of us know, it’s NEVER boring working in the tourism and hospitality industry! This initiative was born out of concerns shared by our partners and board members about unmet workforce needs. After years of research and collaboration with our community, we identified what motivates the younger generation to pursue jobs—and eventually careers—in our industry! The campaign itself targets 18- to 20-year-olds in metro Denver, encouraging them to explore careers in tourism and hospitality. The campaign directs them to a new website with job profiles, openings, educational resources, and more! Additionally, the initiative includes an outreach program where I’ll visit schools with emerging leaders in our industry (aka ambassadors), to engage directly with middle and high school students, sharing resources and videos that highlight their personal stories. As a student and now a recent grad, I understand how valuable these stories can be. They guided my own journey, and I hope this campaign will inspire others to forge their own path in this dynamic industry If you’d like to get involved or have questions, please reach out! Otherwise, explore the website, share it with your team, and follow us on Instagram @boredomisfired. #HospitalityIndustry #HospitalityJobs #BoredomIsFired #VisitDenver #DenverHospitality #OpenPositions #FindJobs #Hiring #DenverJobs #HospitalityJobs #HospitalityCareers #WorkInHospitality #DenverTourism #WorkforceDevelopmentMonth
