Dubai, Singapore, London, Paris: back to the top four of the most #attractive cities for foreign direct investment (#FDI) according to the Global Cities #Investment Monitor (#GCIM) 2024 by Paris-Île de France Capitale Économique (PCE) - 15th edition. 1️⃣ #Dubai - #1 for the 3rd year running Dubai remains in the lead with slower but still robust growth (+28% in 2023 versus almost 100% in 2022). Its extensive growth model aims to attract massive flows of capital, talent and visitors thanks to a pro-business, pragmatic and geopolitically neutral positioning. A major advantage in a tense global context. However, 66% of FDI is in services, with a low average investment per project (6 million €). 2️⃣ #Singapore +1 place, ahead of London The city-state excels in pro-business governance and targeted economic planning. Singapore relies on long-term strategic investments to build sustainable and diversified hubs, particularly in AI. 24 million € on average per project. 3️⃣ #London -1 place, but still solid Despite the Brexit, London remains a pillar of attractiveness thanks to its liberal, pro-business tradition. The economies of scale generated by the agglomeration of financial and business services support a unique dynamic. London also knows how to capitalize on its status as a global financial center to secure funding opportunities for innovative projects and start-ups, particularly in AI. 17 million € on average per project. 4️⃣ #Paris region - Maintains 4th place despite a slowdown The capital region maintains its position despite a clear slowdown (-20%), similar to other European metropolises. Paris Region remains the preferred gateway to European markets for non-European companies.
