TikTok's potential exit could spark a social media GOLD RUSH for Instagram and YouTube. 🌪️ With TikTok's future in the US up in the air, Instagram's Reels and YouTube are set to catch a HUGE wave of users. If TikTok takes a bow, we're looking at a potential audience migration and a major cash influx for its rivals. Here's the SCOOP: If TikTok's curtains close, Meta's looking at snatching up to 27% of TikTok's $6.61 billion ad revenue pie. YouTube's not far behind, eyeing up to $1.54 billion. 📈 And guess what? About 60% of TikTok fans are ready to make Reels their new video vibe, with YouTube Shorts also in the race. The PLOT thickens: The battle for TikTok's throne is intense, with big names like Oracle and celebs like Kevin O’Leary circling for a piece of the action. But China's playing hardball, not keen on a forced sale. So, it's either ban or business as usual for TikTok. 🚀 If TikTok waves goodbye, Meta and Google could be the kings of the ad world, but don't count TikTok out just yet. Their Chinese twin, Douyin, might just take the global stage and fill the gap. Stay TUNED and nimble, marketers—this is one wild ride! 🎢 #SocialMediaShift #TikTokBan #InstagramReels #YouTubeShorts #AdRevenue #MarketingStrategy

“We’re a traditional company, what would we do on TikTok?” Our client hesitated, skeptical of our offer to create TikTok ads. Some of the biggest misconceptions on TikTok are: - It’s only for teenagers. - It’s only for organic growth. - No one would take you seriously there. - There’s no place for ‘traditional’ companies on TikTok. Not only did we generate millions of pounds in revenue for our ‘boring’ clients, such as: - Law Firms - Recruitment Agencies - Financial Services We made them one of the most influential thought leaders with TikTok ads, without any dancing in the videos. TikTok is no longer just a ‘playful’ app; it has become a hub for thriving businesses. So, are you ready for the flow of clients? Send me ‘flow’ in the DMs, and let’s turn you into a thought leader. #advertising #tiktokads #metaads #tiktok

With Congress debating whether or not to force Tiktok parent company ByteDance to sell the app or face a ban in the US due to privacy concerns, the ability of advertisers to utilize it hangs in the balance. TikTok – irrespective of your feelings about it – has proven to be a great way for advertisers to connect with their target audiences, generating big results on streamlined budgets. We at Strategic Marketing advertise on the social media app for several clients, so we will be watching closely to see what changes – if any – occur in the coming weeks and months. TIKTOK ADDS A DISLIKE BUTTON 🤯 What was born out of the need for positivity and inclusivity as consumers grew tired of the *perfectionism* of Instagram, TikTok became a global hit championing participation and humour. So in essence, the addition of a dislike button feels like an off brand move for #TikTok. However given their recent updates, it seems TikTok has set it sights on taking consumer share away from YouTube with its introduction of long form and horizontal video. In which case, the dislike button was a natural next step. But what’s wrong with simply scrolling on? Or at the very most clicking “not interested” to remove associated videos from your algorithm. What do you think? Is this going to breed unnecessary negativity on the platform? 👇 #socialmediaupdates
