"Doors aren’t just meant to be walked through. They’re meant to be owned." 🚪💼 Did you know? Only 14% of commercial real estate investors are women. That’s not just a stat—it’s a challenge. At Selene Brighthouse, we’re not just talking about real estate. Our investors own the buildings—the ones with multiple doors, tenants, and cash flow. We’re breaking barriers, rewriting the rules, and creating generational wealth for women by women. 📈 Because when women invest in commercial real estate, they don’t just level the playing field—they redefine it. 💡 Want to join the movement? Follow Selene Brighthouse to learn how women like you are stepping into ownership, one building at a time. #womeninvestinginrealestate #womeninvesting #womeninvestors #makingwomenwealthier Lauri Kibby Caytie Langford Cameron Hastings

10 Inspirational Women Making Significant Impacts in the South African Real Estate Industry This post was inspired by one of Neville M. Mangco’s informative articles. I was inspired by how South African women are now dominating the industry. According to a 2023 report by the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA), women now occupy 28% of senior leadership roles in commercial real estate, up from just 15% in 2013. Truly impressive! 1. Pam Golding - Founder of Pam Golding Properties, she started the company in 1976, which has grown into one of the largest independent real estate groups in South Africa, with a strong presence in commercial real estate. 2. Yael Geffen - CEO of Lew Geffen Sotheby’s International Realty, continuing her family’s legacy and driving innovation in the industry. 3. Linda Erasmus - CEO of Fine & Country South Africa, known for expanding the brand and setting high standards in the luxury real estate market. 4. Adrienne Hirsch - A prominent business owner in Johannesburg, recognized for her expertise and leadership in real estate. 5. Simphiwe Mhlongo - Founder of Simpre Properties, she started her own real estate agency in 2021, driven by her passion for helping people find their dream homes. 6. Vuyiswa Mutshekwane - CEO of the South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners (SAIBPP), championing the inclusion of women and black professionals in the commercial property sector. 7. Estienne de Klerk - CEO of Growthpoint Properties, focusing on sustainable development and the integration of green building practices. 8. Silindile Leseyane - Founder of Sakhisizwe Stokvel, empowering women through collective investment in real estate, making property ownership more accessible. 9. Tanya Haffern - A real estate investor and author, Tanya is known for her work in property education and helping others achieve financial freedom through real estate. 10. Leanne Parsons - CEO of Seeff Properties, Leanne has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth and success in the competitive real estate market. These women are not only excelling in their careers but also serve as role models, inspiring the next generation of female leaders in real estate. #AfricanDiaspora #SouthAfricaRealEstate #InvestmentOpportunities #LuxuryHomes #RealEstateInvesting #PropertyMarket #GlobalInvestors #AfricaRising #HomeBuyers #RealEstateTrends

I recently had the honor of attending a mastermind event hosted by Dream Keys Home Group, an eXp Realty Home Group led by the inspiring Lizette Camacho. Their slogan, "Open the door to your future with Dream Keys Home Group brokered by eXp Realty," perfectly captures their mission. This woman-empowered community real estate team aligns seamlessly with the values of our law firm. 🌟🏡 As a guest attorney at this event, I witnessed firsthand the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the real estate industry. Lizette and her team are committed to empowering women in real estate, creating a supportive environment where professionals can thrive. Their dedication to fostering growth and success among female professionals is truly inspiring. 📈📝 At Key Esquire, we emphasize the importance of legal diligence in real estate transactions. Our focus includes contract contingencies, title searches, and navigating regulatory complexities. Legal expertise ensures smoother transactions and protects investments. 🔍📜 Lizette shared her journey and the challenges she faced in establishing Dream Keys Home Group, and her dedication to empowering women in real estate is truly inspiring. Building a supportive network for female professionals is crucial for fostering growth and success. 👩💼💪 The event highlighted the value of strong professional networks, as connecting with like-minded individuals enhances our ability to navigate the market and provide top-notch service to our clients. We also explored future prospects in real estate, including technological advancements and sustainable practices, recognizing that embracing innovation and forward-thinking strategies is essential for long-term success. 🌐🔮 The mastermind event reinforced the importance of continuous learning and collaboration in real estate. As a Board Member I am very proud of what CEO Michele Tung has built with homeD. A startup with millions of revenues coming out of the gate! Thought leadership at the Modular Building Institute , the First Nations Housing & Infrastructure Council - BC and other industry organizations. #modularconstruction #girlpower But man (pun intended) I am so glad that I am not a woman and not an Asian! I witnessed Michele going through some strange experiences which I am told are indicative of what female and non-European entrepreneurs have to go through in Canada (fictionalized based on stories from a few other Canadian female and/or Asian entrepreneurs, no actual events): VC: "You don't offer venture returns so we can't invest". Entrepreneur: "We have a pipeline that will allow us to scale to over $100M in profitable revenue in 5 years. We can't promise you profitable billions because we don't think something like that can be achieved in such a short time frame." VC: "We want software deals and deals like we did with Adam Neumann who offered venture returns! Come back when your first buildings are finished." Entrepreneur: "We won't need any more venture capital once the buildings are up and we have profitable revenues. Good luck trying to find the next Adam (or Eve)." Incubator: "We want you to meet with 20 of our investors for diligence" Entrepreneur: "How much do these investors invest and what experience do they have?" Incubator: "Each of them invests $5,000. We have wellness experts, mental health coaches, SRED consultants, realtors. lawyers,... Unfortunately no one with hands-on construction experience but we want to talk to you because you are a racialized female." Entrepreneur: "I was born in North America and my mother tongue is English. At what point do you think I was racialized? Or do you mean radicalized? 🤣 " Hats off to RBC and RBCx for going their own way and supporting so many great female entrepreneurs! It is a strange world when the bigger banks are leading the investment community in terms of vision.
I’m humbled to share that I’ve been recognized as a Recipient of the 2024 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards in the Ones to Watch category. This journey with homeD Modular has been nothing short of intense, challenging, and rewarding. Building something with the vision of making affordable, high-performance homes accessible to more people has been both a passion and a responsibility that I don’t take lightly. This award feels like a validation of all the late nights, the tough decisions, and the unwavering belief in what we’re trying to accomplish. But more than that, this recognition is for the team – the incredibly talented, passionate individuals who have given their all to help bring this vision to life. I’m beyond grateful to work alongside such an inspiring group of people. This is just the beginning, and we’re more motivated than ever to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the affordable housing space. Thank you to everyone who has supported me, believed in me, and been part of this journey. #Gratitude #AffordableHousing #Innovation #WomenInBusiness #homeDModular#RBC https://lnkd.in/dD7X7edH

Dallas-Fort Worth is the second-best metro for women-owned businesses in the United States, according to a new report from Wells Fargo & Co. DFW trailed only Miami on the metro ranking. Texas was named the overall eight-best state for women who own businesses; it saw 3.1% growth in the number of firms but a decline of 1.9% in employment. https://lnkd.in/gm5Mgx3U
