Finger Guards on Fans BCA 2016 Class 2 units - Stair pressurization fan intake. 1. SPF was running backwards. 2. Pressure transducers were not piped 3. SPF & carpark VSD's all together in MSR. 4. SPF's also had CO sensors in the fire stairs connected to them! 5. SPF intake shares compartment with the gas regulator valve. 6. SPF's & carpark vent fans wired from the VSD's in orange circular, then connected to Radox with exposed BP connectors and then run to the fans. 7. Two pressurized fire stairs discharging to single passageway. 8. One pressurized fire stair open to atmosphere! 9. Diesel exhaust pipe runs up through SOU balcony with no heat protection and discharges above a path of egress. Other observations Fire collars with no fixings. Fire collars with plastic knockins. Fire collars with zinc alloy fixings. Fire collars on one side of wall. No fire collars. Pink foam around duct penetration. Intumescent fire damper cut down to fit in ductwork. Fire damper not within the penetrated element. No insulation criteria on cable tray penetrations. Cable tray penetrations not fire sealed correctly. Conduit passing through a fire pillow penetration. The whole carpark exhaust and supply air systems ductwork is sub-standard. The whole stair pressurization systems install is sub-standard. Only onsite for one hour!

Blow-through rotary airlock valve adopts horizontal feeding design, which is very suitable for dilute phase conveying of powdery materials. The valve directly connects to conveying pipe. Conveying air comes in from one side of the equipment and straightly goes through rotor blade’s V-shaped chamber, mixing with materials and entering into the conveying pipe. Besides, residual materials will be blown away by the conveying air. As a result, it ensures good feeding efficiency.

Do you know the test pressure for your fire pipes? Have you always tested your pipe only to 1.5 x working pressure or 1400kPa? The answer lies in MS2616. The pipe should be tested to suction pressure available at the pump inlet + shut off head of pump + 4bar/7bar in accordance to your design. Thus pipe is tested to more than shut off pressure of pump and there is no relation to the operating pressure. Thus the safety factor is very high (probably in case pumps are replaced with pumps with higher shutoff head in the future). This makes placing pump at 150m below the highest landing valve not plausible due to high test pressure requirement which cannot be sustained by your fittings. Remember that your chain breaks at the weakest link, in our case is the joints. Apart from test pressure, the other most common errors is pump setting.
