Top tips for staff and client gifts this festive season 🤶 Yes, yes it's already time to talk Christmas gifts with only 12 weeks until the big day. But at Cloud Nine Global, we've been preparing for this day for months - researching and testing exciting new products, meeting with creative new suppliers, finding eco and sustainable packaging options and eating our way through festive blocks of chocolate..... Here are our top tips when thinking about client or staff gifts this year: 1. Support local, support artisans There are so many incredible small businesses, making beautiful products that are perfect for gifting. We make it our mission at C9G to connect and work with as many of these suppliers as we can, as that is where creative, memorable and unique gifts come from. 100% of the products and packaging we source come from Australian businesses as we passionately support local. 2. Personalise wherever possible A personal touch goes a long way, so look at ways you can add something special. We do the obvious like branded ribbons and boxes, but we also handwrite gift recipient and giftee names on EVERY SINGLE CARD, engrave gifts (such as on gold leaf vodka from Otter Craft Distilling) and source gift items from your local area (ie source from Queensland suppliers if you're based there). 3. Be realistic with your budget Everyone knows prices have gone up for pretty much everything this year, so be realistic about what you can get. You won't be able to get the same gifts as last year for the same price, so look at where you can tweak items, or increase your budget slightly. Make sure you're not gifting landfill junky items, but instead look at thoughtful, creative or just damn tasty items. 🎉✨ What Festive Celebrations Mean to Me ✨🎉 Festive celebrations have always held a special place in my heart. They're about more than just gathering for food or reconnecting with loved ones; they're about creating memories and cherishing traditions. For me, the preparations have been a ritual since I was young. Starting with simple tasks like drying cutlery, sweeping the floor, and peeling onions, I gradually took on more complex duties, both in cooking and house chores. From dusting every corner to arranging decorations, the entire house was a part of the festive makeover. There were moments of frustration, especially as an only child bearing the bulk of the workload. I often questioned why we went through so much trouble just to prepare these elaborate dishes and transform our home. As I grew older, my perspective shifted. I began to appreciate the process and empathize with those who put in the effort to make the festivities special. It's taught me not to waste food and to value the hard work that goes into every detail. The act of preparing for festive celebrations has nurtured many unspoken values from following the right order, validating instructions, managing expectations, and refining motor skills, especially for kids. Now, as a parent, I pass these lessons on to my children. I make sure they understand why we do each task, rather than just telling them to do it. Though they often make the kitchen more chaotic and their cleaning efforts less efficient, it teaches me patience and the importance of planning age-appropriate tasks for them. With enquiries rolling in, we’re doing everything we know about to make the booking process smooth and inviting. We're responding quickly with all the info, offering incentives to secure bookings promptly, and even following up with friendly and personalised reminders. But here’s the thing: despite these efforts, we’ve been getting ghosted! It’s a bit frustrating to see enquiries drop off without even a “thanks” or a polite decline that they've decided to go elsewhere (although those that do are very nice and engage in feedback as to why they chose elsewhere) We’re wondering if this is a trend others are experiencing, or if we’re missing a trick somewhere?
