#TruthBeTold Would we consume products that were forced to openly and with great transparency be marketed with their contents and potential personal health effects? A few examples: 🍬 Candy Bars: Made with high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and preservatives that can spike blood sugar and contribute to inflammation. 🥤 Sugary Drinks: Packed with refined sugars and/or artificial sweeteners linked to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. 🍟 Fast Food: Loaded with trans fats, sodium, and hidden additives that can wreak havoc on your metabolism and overall health. By shedding light on what's really in our food, we empower ourselves to make informed choices. Imagine a grocery aisle where labels reflect the true composition of products, helping us prioritize whole, nutrient-dense locally produced foods that nourish our bodies and minds. Indulging in treats occasionally is part of life, while I do believe in moderation across the board, including moderation - society would be healthier with clearer food labeling that prioritize whole, minimally processed foods. Together, we can promote a healthier food environment and make informed decisions that support our well-being. Thank you @eveamerica on TikTok and Robert Lufkin MD and for creating and sharing this clever, entertaining and thought provoking post! Marketing packaging is a tool to get you to buy something you don't need (or is bad for you) via deception. It's about the story not the contents. Anything with salt, sugar or fat tastes good. Essential goods do not need fancy packaging and can use refillable totes. How can any packaging for non essential goods ever be sustainable.
