It's National Public Health Week, and this year's theme is "We Are All Public Health." The National Public Health Week website reads: "Public health is more than just health care. It's the steps we take to make sure our neighborhoods and environment are free from pollution. It's making sure our food and water are safe to eat and drink. It's also the relationships we foster in our communities. We're all interconnected. When we all come together to support public health, all of us — individuals, families, communities and the public health field — can achieve the goals of public health." What can make our neighborhoods healthy? here are some ideas: https://brnw.ch/21wIrCo

Designing for the Human Mind to Build Better Brains & Buildings | Senior Project Architect & Passionate Neuroscientist | Creating Human-Centric, Cognitively Enhanced Environments
Design is indeed a public health intervention and should also be considered as a public health right.
In honor of National Public Health Week’s theme “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health,” we’re uncovering why design is a public health intervention, starting with making healthy community plans. Our health district planning framework considers how the places where we live, work, learn, and play profoundly impact our well-being and quality of life. By prioritizing place, population health, partnerships, and performance, we're building on health systems' growing commitment to tackle the social determinants of health in the neighborhoods we serve. Through this lens, we hope to create vibrant places that support a healthier future. Explore our booklet for transformative opportunities, our toolkit of community-driven solutions, and more:

It's National Public Health Week, April 1-7, 2024! This year's theme is “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health.” Our focus is not just the ways public health serves our communities — protecting our access to clean water and air, to nutritious and safe foods, to the right and ability to access essential health services — but the ways our communities flourish when they have their needs met. The American Public Health Association and National Public Health Week want everyone to know they can make their communities healthier, safer and stronger when we support and stay engaged with one another. As we adjust and adapt to new social norms, we’re focusing not just on what we can do as individuals, but what we can do as communities to protect, prioritize and influence the future of public health. For resources and other information for how to share this information with your community, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gabRKd6q #NPHW Alt text: 'Civic Engagement' with an illustration of people waiting in line to vote and a person mailing a ballot. The NPHW logo is below, with a design of vines around.

On the final day of National Public Health Week (NPHW) 2024, the theme is the future of public health. The future of public health lies in collaborations and centering community voices to ensure accessibility to care and support that every individual needs to live a healthier life. Actions we can take to make a difference include joining community organizations, making health information accessible, and declaring racism as a public health issue. Check out the NPHW website (https://lnkd.in/g7QpFTzp) to learn more about actions we can take individually, in our communities, in our cities/states, and as a nation!
