If you are interested in how Arkansans participate (or don’t) in political and civic engagement, you should definitely read the “Arkansas Civic Health Index Report”, published by the National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC) in partnership with the Clinton School of Public Service. Excellent, eye-opening report, highlighting facts such as Arkansas has the lowest voter registration and voter turnout in the country!
Page 31 of the #Arkansas Civic Health Index Report shows a fascinating table describing the real-world factors that create divides between Arkansas and the rest of the country. Only by considering these differences during civil discussion can we start to move toward real change in how Arkansans view their #civic duties. Read more of the first-ever Arkansas Civic Health Index report at wrinst.org/achi-report. The authors call for improved consumer support, education, and advocacy; financial assistance for lower-income residents, and policies like supportive immigration policies to bolster the assisted living workforce.
