🔍 False Claims about Zelenskyy Moving to Florida Debunked by FactCheck.org In a recent investigation, FactCheck.org addressed rumors that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to move to the U.S., specifically Florida. This story was primarily disseminated through social media platforms, resting on the distribution of an alleged naturalization certificate purportedly linked to President Zelenskyy. The claims surfaced amidst a complex situation in Ukraine, characterized by military challenges and hardships in obtaining financial support from the U.S. Furthermore, the narrative of Zelenskyy's potential U.S. citizenship was bolstered by a video, narrated by a claimed Secret Service agent, suggesting that this move was backed by the U.S. government. However, FactCheck.org's scrutiny revealed multiple inconsistencies that question the document's credibility. Critical details such as Zelenskyy's middle name were missing, and the supposed signature of the director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services was not present. Additionally, the supposed signatory on the document does not match current official records. The disinformation appears to have originated from a Russia-based website with a history of publishing misleading content about the war in Ukraine. More so, it's suggested that the author's profile connected to the story was fabricated, featuring a photograph of an unrelated New York-based writer. Despite international support trips, Zelenskyy has shown a clear pattern of returning to lead and live in Ukraine throughout the ongoing conflict, demonstrating his commitment to his nation amid warfare. #Ukraine #Zelenskyy #FactCheck #Disinformation #SocialMedia Sources: https://lnkd.in/gzHrNK4r

If Germany goes this road, it is only fair if the same law is applied to those who support IDF in their war crimes and killing campaign of children and women in Gaza. This glorifies Israeli terrorism based on the exact definition of this distorted law; otherwise, it (the new law) will be considered pure racism. In fact, some have even gone far further than glorifying crimes and suggested "killing them all" or dropping nukes on the entire population in Gaza. How Germany dealt with those. From what I see, the law does not apply to Israelis, their armies, their extremist settlers, or their right-wing fascist government. It seems that German law is tailor-made to target anyone from Palestine or their relatives or friends who demanded a ceasefire. Shame on this bald ugly fellow, chancellor of Germany. We miss Angela Merkel greatly seeing this Mickey Mouse who is now running this great country.

Asia Justice Coalition member Human Rights Watch released its World Report 2024. " Myanmar’s military junta in 2023 increasingly carried out unlawful airstrikes against villages with ethnic minorities and anti-coup residents. The security forces committed mass killings, enforced disappearances, torture, rape and other sexual violence, and arbitrary arrests and detention. “The junta’s increased unlawful airstrikes exemplify the deteriorating human rights situation in Myanmar since the 2021 coup,” said Elaine Pearson, Asia director at Human Rights Watch. “Governments should tighten sanctions on the military, and urge the UN Security Council to impose an arms embargo on Myanmar and refer the situation to the International Criminal Court.” In April, Myanmar’s military used a thermobaric weapon – a fuel-air explosive – in Sagaing Region that killed more than 160 civilians. In October, the military attacked a village hosting hundreds of displaced civilians in Kachin State, killing 28 civilians, including 11 children. And since the February 2021 coup, the military has used domestically produced cluster munitions, which are inherently indiscriminate, in populated areas. The junta blocked desperately needed aid from reaching millions of people in conflict areas, in violation of international humanitarian law. More than two million people have been internally displaced, with many fleeing air and ground attacks multiple times. In October, tens of thousands of people fled clashes between the military and an alliance of ethnic armed groups and anti-junta People’s Defense Forces in northern Shan State. UN Security Council measures against Myanmar authorities have long been stymied by Russia and China, both of which have veto power. Other governments should find ways to expand their own national sanctions to press the junta to change course, Human Rights Watch said. UN member countries should comply with a UN General Assembly 2021 resolution, which urged governments “to prevent the flow of arms into Myanmar.” Key governments such as the United States expanded sanctions, including on two Myanmar banks used by the junta to purchase weapons and military equipment. In August, the US issued a directive prohibiting financial transactions involving the military-owned Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE). But the European Union, US, Canada, and the United Kingdom should better coordinate and enforce their actions while seeking compliance by Singapore, Thailand and other neighbors of Myanmar. The International Criminal Court (ICC) currently has an investigation into crimes related to the 2017 ethnic cleansing campaign against the Rohingya, but it is limited in scope. An ICC referral remains critical to address the full range of atrocity crimes in Myanmar. Separately, the UN Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar continued gathering evidence for future prosecutions." https://lnkd.in/gKaU5XNN

🚩In February, Biden (NSM-20) asked the Secretary of State + Defense to provide assurances that Israel - recipient of American arms and military aid - is not violating international humanitarian law and human rights. 🚩Today Oxfam USA and Human Rights watch tell Biden not to trust Israel’s assurances and present substantiated violations. 🚩This is in the direction of Stop Arming Israel as long as its violating the Geneva Conventions - not just the Prevention of Genocide Convention. 🚩The USA provides more than 70% of Israel’s weaponry. 🚩The USA is complicit and so is any country allowing transit of US arms to Israel. In the wake of the two-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, international human rights law firm and foundation, Global Rights Compliance has called for the international community to step up its support for Kyiv. 🎙Speaking to US political and foreign policy newspaper, The Hill, Global Rights Compliance Founder and Managing Partner, Wayne Jordash KC said, “There’s no question that you can look at how battlefield successes corresponds to the type of weapons and the volume of weapons which have been provided by the West.” GRC is continuing to support Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General in documenting and analysing evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including conflict-related sexual violence. Last year the law firm revealed 35 detention centres operated by Russian forces in Kherson where the torture of Ukrainian detainees routinely took place. As the war enters its third year, GRC emphasises that it is more crucial than ever for Ukraine’s international partners to provide assistance and ensure that there is accountability for war crimes committed by Russian forces. 📰 Read more in The Hill here: https://lnkd.in/gngguNSw 📍 To learn more about GRC’s Mobile Justice Teams: https://lnkd.in/eqJWPt24 #Ukraine #humanrights #Russia #warcrimes #crimesagainsthumanity

The American Friends Service Committee joined our last NRL webinar to talk about the deep connections between the immigration and military industrial complex, breaking down the meaning behind the popular protest chant: “From Palestine to Mexico, all the walls have got to go!” 📢 Here were some of the key takeaways: ⛓ The protest chant connecting the issues at the U.S.-Mexico border to Palestine highlights the shared reality of people fighting against violent systems of oppression. ❗️ Anti-immigrant politicians in the U.S. and military officials in Israel employ dehumanizing language to both justify and normalize state repression against people fleeing violence. 🗣 Language has power. We must reject any language that likens human beings to aliens or animals. From border violence to war crimes, use AFSC’s investigative database for extensive documentation on hundreds of companies involved in human rights violations to connect the dots: Investigate.info #immigration #narrative #palestine #border

#Argentina🇦🇷 #PresidentJavierMilei🇦🇷 firmly commits to pursuing the foreign policy that the citizens voted for. #Kirchnerism promoted activist officials ("funcionarios militantes") who still hold key positions in the State, including #Defense, #Security, #Intelligence, and #ForeignAffairs. "With the excuse of confirming Diana Mondino’s departure from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and framing it within Argentina’s vote at the United Nations in favor of #Cuba and against the U.S. embargo on the island, Javier Milei’s administration used an official statement to draw a line for diplomats: it announced a ‘personnel audit’ in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to identify ‘promoters of agendas hostile to #freedom.’ The message came from the President’s virtual office, posting on X. ‘#Argentina🇦🇷 is going through a period of profound change, and this new phase requires that our #diplomatic #corps reflect in every decision the values of #freedom, #sovereignty, and #individual #rights that define #Western #democracies,’ emphasized the statement issued from an office close to presidential advisor Santiago Caputo. The Government furthered its stance: ‘In this regard, our country categorically opposes the Cuban dictatorship and will stand firm in promoting a foreign policy that condemns all regimes perpetuating human rights abuses and restricting individual freedoms.’ In a final paragraph, the administration delivered a strong message to the Foreign Service: ‘The Argentine Republic will uphold these principles in all international forums in which it participates, and the Executive Branch will begin an audit of career personnel in the Foreign Ministry with the objective of identifying promoters of agendas hostile to #freedom.’” #PresidentJavierMilei🇦🇷 #VLLC
