It’s often a challenge to get C-level leaders to understand the financial impact of turnover. It is not specifically identified on an income statement or balance sheet.
I posted a LI survey asking for everyone's "all-in" cost per physician hire for an article I was writing in collaboration with Paul DeChant MD, one of PLC-Network.com's Advisory Board Members. The results? Astounding! #physicianrecruitment #recruitmentroi #physicianretention #physicianturnover #recruitment #retention #physicianrecruiter #physicianrecruiting #healthcareleadership #physicianleadership https://lnkd.in/eMk-6Pyi

Practicing ER Physician | Digital Health Strategy and Implementation Lead Consultant @ ZS | Kellogg MBA
One monthly emergency medicine journal with THREE articles all about the disarray and mismanagement of physician wellness. Some memorable quotes that should give us all pause on the up hill struggles physicians face outside of their all ready challenging jobs: “Nearly one in 13 male emergency physicians (EP) and one in 10 female EPs left the EM workforce within five years of residency graduation.” https://lnkd.in/gDncUDnh “Doc: [emergency physicians] will eventually quit without some change. Admin: Then we’ll hire new ones” https://lnkd.in/gSkYxAR9 “…in today's culture of emergency medicine…we're all just interchangeable names on a schedule. Expecting medicine to love me back was a mistake.” https://lnkd.in/gXTHBphB

I help physicians cultivate a sense of calm and regain control in their personal and professional lives. Professional Coach | Writer | Amateur Photographer | World Traveler #physiciancoaching #surgeoncoaching #wellness
Recently, I read a post by another physician online about an experience he had decades ago, soon after he first became an attending in the ER. The experience still troubled him significantly. The anecdote was one of so many in a long career on the front lines of healthcare, where life and death are often part of the daily events, amidst the otherwise mundane and ordinary. He retained an uneasy feeling about it even after all the interim years. #physiciancoaching #surgeoncoaching #physicianwellness #surgeonwellness #physiciancoach #orthomastodon https://lnkd.in/ggGWDCrR

Doctor's Day Message: Strengthening the Doctor-Patient Relationship and the Joy of Being a Doctor On this special occasion of Doctor's Day, we celebrate the dedication, compassion, and commitment of doctors worldwide. It is a day to acknowledge the tireless efforts of those in the medical field who work relentlessly to ensure the health and well-being of their patients. Central to the effectiveness of this noble profession is the doctor-patient relationship, which forms the cornerstone of effective healthcare. The doctor-patient relationship is built on trust, empathy, and open communication. Trust is the foundation that allows patients to feel comfortable sharing their most intimate health concerns, knowing they are in safe hands. As doctors, it is our duty to create an environment where patients feel heard and valued. This involves not only listening to their words but also understanding their unspoken fears and anxieties. Empathy is another critical component. It allows us to put ourselves in our patients' shoes, to see the world from their perspective, and to respond with compassion. This emotional connection can significantly enhance patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment plans. By showing empathy, we reassure our patients that they are not just another case number, but individuals with unique stories and needs. Effective communication bridges the gap between diagnosis and treatment. It involves explaining medical conditions and procedures in a way that is understandable and relatable to patients. Clear communication helps in demystifying complex medical jargon, enabling patients to make informed decisions about their health. Moreover, it encourages patients to ask questions and voice their concerns, fostering a collaborative approach to healthcare. For me, being a doctor is an incredibly fulfilling journey. The opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life is a privilege that brings immense satisfaction. Each day presents new challenges and learning experiences, keeping the profession dynamic and intellectually stimulating. The gratitude and trust that patients place in us are profound motivators that drive us to continually strive for excellence. One of the most rewarding aspects of being a doctor is witnessing the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Patients often face daunting health challenges with remarkable courage and determination. Being a part of their journey, providing support and care, and celebrating their victories, big or small, is incredibly gratifying. Moreover, the continuous advancements in medical science and technology offer exciting opportunities to improve patient care. Staying abreast of these developments and incorporating them into practice ensures that we provide the best possible care to our patients. #DoctorsDay #Gratitude #HealingHands #July1DoctorsDay #DrSureshKPandeyKota #DrVidushiSharmaKota #SuViEyeHospitalKota #SuViEyeHospitalLasikLaserCenterKota
