I've used a variety of third-party remote access solutions over the years and two major issues have been cost and performance. Many remote access solutions are expensive. In addition, they are processor + resource intense on both the host and client computers resulting in lags, freezes, or crashes (with crashes on a host computer requiring an on-site visit to reboot the host and re-enable remote access). A few years ago, I needed to revisit remote access software and in researching alternatives to solutions I've used in the past, I found Splashtop. I was surprised at their pricing model given how affordable it was. In fact, I was so surprised that I was hesitant to give Splashtop a try ... after all, you get what you pay for, right? However, after careful consideration and given they offered a free trial, I gave Splashtop (Business Access) a try and it worked really well. It was both affordable and it was not as processor + resource intense as other remote access solutions I've used in the past. Was it a perfect solution? No, but it checked the boxes and accomplished what I needed it to do. Would I recommend Splashtop as a remote access solution? Yes. I used Splashtop (Business Access) for about a year until I no longer required remote access and it worked for my needs. But do your own research and go through your due diligence process to make sure it checks all the boxes on your list.
