Perfect use of a celebrity! Too often brands jump to using a celebrity to gain attention. And of course that can work. But often it just gains attention for the celeb, not the brand. It's been a 12 month journey but today DGV and Channel 7, Shepparton Victoria came together to announce a strategic partnership that will not only benefit DGV but more importantly, their partners. 'This is an important milestone for DGV and Channel 7. Our organisations have been working together for the last 12 months, to establish a mutually beneficial partnership that will have flow on effects for our own entities along with our partner base, which is growing daily', highlighted Vicki Scott. We take an integrated marketing approach at DGV, and this partnership adds another medium when advocating on behalf of the growing visitor economy of the Goulburn Valley, our partners and the work of DGV. A year ago today, as an intern at Wasserman Media Group, I found myself in a fireside chat with golf executives when the news of the LIV Golf and PGA Tour merger broke. The announcement sent shockwaves across social media, igniting a pandemonium of predictions that these two giants of the men’s professional game would remain at odds. Today, the divide remains evident, highlighted by the contrasting spectacles of the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament in Ohio and LIV Golf’s Houston event. As an Entry-level DE&I Cultural Strategist, I’ve observed firsthand the challenges and missed opportunities in bridging such divides. The ongoing stalemate underscores the complexities of merging not just organizations but cultures and visions. Personal Take 👩🏾💻 ⛳ : To create a more inclusive framework for the merger, my approach would focus on integrating the core values and strengths of both organizations. This means fostering a culture of open dialogue and mutual respect, where diverse perspectives are not just heard but actively integrated into decision-making processes. By leveraging DE&I principles, we can build a unified vision that honors the rich histories of both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf while paving the way for a new era of innovation and inclusivity in the sport.
