Is the job market now actually down or just another phrase being thrown around to pay lesser or delay hiring? (Asking this specifically pertaining to the advertising, film and entertainment, content marketing and events) #jobmarket #filmandentertainment #newwork #hireme

Hi LinkedIn community, This post is a stand against legit slavery. I’ve been looking for a job since more than a month. I’ve applied to more than 200 jobs and have been rejected from almost 100 and ghosted by the remaining. I just came across the following job for a full-time content editor (screenshot attached). The company not only wants a resume but also a video to showcase the candidate’s skill sets. And please check the pay. I mean is it for real? The company’s offering $1,000–$1,400 per month. Is this a joke? We don’t even get a den with a shared bathroom in $1,400 in Toronto! And you know what’s the sad part: 58 people have already applied to it because they just want employment. It feels like companies know that there are a zillion jobless people out there who’ll do anything to get work. But do businesses realize that exploiting an educated person’s time and skills is unethical. Yes, organizations need to create more jobs for people but definitely not at the cost of salaries. Wake up, hiring employers. This is appalling! #salaries #jobs #disappointing

44% of employees would consider leaving their current job primarily because of money. 🤔 The accuracy of these numbers may be questionable now, given that the book was published in 2020. 📕 However, employees quitting their current jobs because of money still stand high. And this shouldn't be looked down upon. After all, we put effort and invest our time to bring value to a certain individual or organization. We all very well deserve to make decisions based on monetary benefits. The same happens to organizations like ours, we say no to clients who cannot compensate for our value and time. Sounds fair, doesn't it? So it should be fair for an individual too. If you're looking for a new job and think you should be paid more for your creative role, then contact us. Reach out to us at hr@minimaltweaks.com or DM me. We are looking for the following roles👇🏽 1. Social Media Manager 2. Video Editor 3. Copywriter 4. Creative Strategist PS: Experience does matter but we are seeking curious minds to join our team. Move beyond stress and anxiety and live the life you crave | 6x Founder/CEO | Know what it takes to build and how to handle the pressures
If someone asks me for a job without a resume... I'll never hesitate to take them on. Because resumes are dead. They all look the same and are stuffed with exaggerated achievements. So here's what you should zero in on while hiring high performers: Their personal brand. Hiring someone in the marketing department? → Look for someone who consistently breaks down top strategies and gives their two cents on the latest trends. Hiring a sales head? → Look for someone who analyses successful campaigns and shares their thought process Hiring a video editor? → Look for someone who has a portfolio of edited reels online. You'll find your A players when you stop chasing the flashiest resume and start hiring based on their personal brand. Because it proves: - They take initiative - They think out of the box - They adapt to the market changes Any unique hiring stories? Share them below:

So let me get this straight... 😂 You were hired as a video editor except the company told you to do like 4 other jobs that they don't have to pay anybody for, and you're bragging that you're getting a promotion? 🤣🤦♂️ They're offering you "a significant pay bump" because IF YOU QUIT, they are going to have to hire FIVE PEOPLE to do what you're already doing for them basically for free. 💰😁 Also, you're telling on yourself. Nobody's good at all of those disciplines you listed. That means you're MEDIOCRE in all of them. 🤡 What you're going to find out is that as you rise in your career, NOBODY IMPORTANT wants a Jack of all Trades. 🤷♂️ That's only for low-level companies who can't afford to hire PROFESSIONALS as editors, graphic artists, colorists, etc. So you're going to build this resume as "look at all these things I can do" and you won't be able to advance because it's obvious that you haven't SPECIALIZED in any of the disciplines and you will lose out against ANY COMPETITION 100% of the time. Imagine DISNEY hiring for a VIDEO EDITOR and here you come talking about you can edit but you also do graphics and color. They will laugh you out of the room. NOBODY CARES about this extra stuff you can do. What are you EXCELLENT at? #Business #VideoEditing #FirstWorldProblems #WhereDoTheyFindThesePeople? 🤷♂️

The Growth Process! I come from a small business background. As a family we have never had more than 2-3 employees ever. Not so much anymore, things changed dramatically. My life journey has been a roller coaster in the last 4 years. It has sky rocketed even more so in the last 9 to 12 months. We used to be a staff of 6 people till Mid 2023. We are now at a whopping 26 staff members. This includes office admin team, sales team, social media team across multiple cities and countries. And the interesting part is that it is still not done. As an organization, we are still understaffed. There are many departments which still need human supervision. For example we badly require and internal IT specialist, who can be the one point contact for all our internal as well outsourced technology matters. We need a good video editor who can join us full time. Someone responsible enough to once again manage the entire creative team. He/she will have to fulfill the vision of the videos that I have in my mind. What you see currently is just the fraction of my creative mind. Once the studio will be setup, the work and the manpower will manifold. The sales staff also needs to be departmentalized, hierarchy has to be set. Our team needs to grow by twice in the next 12 months. All of this will lead to a separate human resource department which will need additional hiring. Overwhelming to another level for me, an individual who likes to get his hands dirty and do everything on his own. Till date, I do simple things like pay bills, payrolls, reply to Instagram direct messages myself. There used to be a time that I used to choreograph, script, shoot, edit, produce the entire videos all by myself. I understand now that if I have to grow as a person, as an organization then all of this needs to be done. There is no other way but to get my hands dirty, just in a different role. As a mentor, as a guide, as the lighthouse that shines bright during the darkest of nights, guiding and saving the lost captain from the deathly rocks that might sink him, his ship and his crew. ➖ #growth #experience #business #entrepreneur

Ah, the classic case of corporate delusion strikes again! Yet again, I stumbled upon a job posting from XYZ company seeking a content manager who's also expected to handle all digital marketing strategies and campaigns. Such organisations really need to come out of their fantasy world ‼️ Hiring for a content manager but expecting them to be a one-person army for ALL digital marketing strategies and campaigns? 😂 Give me a break! Maybe it's time for these companies to invest in a clue instead of clueless job postings! Next time, try reading job descriptions before hitting 'post,' folks. It'll save everyone a lot of embarrassment! #jobpostings #realitycheck #jobhiring #contentwriting #socialmedia #hiringalert #hr #linkedincommunity

Video Editor | Taking your videos to next level | Founder - Seek Cinema Studio | Content Manager - The Jedburgh Podcast
People post job openings just to gain traction. It's pretty wild, right? We've all seen those posts that get tons of engagement, comments, and shares, but how many of those are legit job opportunities? Honestly, it's frustrating for those genuinely looking for opportunities. It wastes time and can lead to disappointment. So, next time you see a hiring post, take a moment to check if it’s legit. Look for details like the company name, role specifics, and how to apply. And if you’re posting, ensure you’re being genuine with your intentions. What do you think about this trend? Have you experienced it? By the way, we're also hiring a video editor for an on-site role. (100% Legit haha) If you're interested, drop us a message! #Jobposts #Hiringtrends #Linkedintips #Engagementstrategy #Networking #Jobsearch #Begenuine #Careertips
