April marks National Stress Awareness Month, and as an education recruitment agency, we understand the challenges of juggling demands. Whether it's lesson planning, marking, setting performance goals for students, here are three trusted strategies to help you manage stress: 1. Prioritise Wisely: Not every urgent task needs your immediate attention. Identify your top priorities and channel your energy there—effective prioritisation is key to productive outcomes and a calmer state of mind. 2. Get Organised: Bring order to chaos. Organising your tasks can clear your thoughts as much as it can your physical workspace, boosting your focus and giving you a sense of control. 3. Relax Intentionally: Allow yourself time to unwind. Regular breaks aren't a luxury; they're a necessity for a balanced mind and peak performance. We're with you every step of your educational journey, offering resources and advice to tackle academic pressures with confidence. How do you stay on top of stress during crunch times? A huge thank you to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for an incredibly beneficial training course on Time Management & Personal Effectiveness! Did you know that on average we all spend around 41% on low-level tasks?! During the course we delved deep into the psychology behind procrastination, recognising how it impacts us all in various ways. Learning about its effects and triggers has been extremely insightful, enabling me to devise personalised strategies for overcoming this productivity barrier. We also discovered effective techniques to eliminate, delegate, and streamline tasks to optimise efficiency and productivity. Importantly, we were taught how to manage stress and anxiety at work, to maintain our mental well-being, by establishing and upholding boundaries, along with professionally handling time hijackers. I'm excited to implement these learnings for continued growth and success! If you need any tips and tricks please don't hesitate to reach out to me! #TimeManagement #PersonalEffectiveness #ProfessionalDevelopment #CIPRTraining

Round 2 of the Motivation@Work Credential will start on October 28! Here's what participants in the first round had to say: 📢 It has greatly deepened my understanding of the theory and how to apply it. 📢The simultaneous presence of videos that introduce the concepts, AND the suggested readings allowed us to deepen the subjects. 📢 The exercises offer the possibility to share our experiences with other students. 📢The assessment allowed us to think more deeply, it was really formative. 📢The videos and handouts break the theory into bite size understandable chunks. 📢The discussions in the in-person sessions were rich and illuminating. 📢 The instructor challenged us to create and describe an intervention and I'm still thinking about it after the assignment. #motivation #workmotivation #selfdeterminationtheory https://lnkd.in/gkvyF8Gs.

Does individual behaviour influence workplace culture? One of my favourite workshops to deliver to school staff is “Postive Workplace cultures: the 3 Ps approach”. It allows people to reflect on their contribution and reminds them how important everyone is for school culture. Yesterday I delivered this training to all teaching staff at another one of Insignis Academy Trust schools. The picture is a glimpse of their reflections 😀 The staff were amazing and really understood the message that if each person is just 1% more: 1. Positive 2. Present & 3. Praising then this will lift the ‘vibe’ of the entire culture. When we recognise how challenging working in a school is, this becomes more important as everyone wants to work in an environment that looks, sounds and feels great. This helps both retention and recruitment. Comment below strategies you practice to improve the vibe in your workplace. #school #education #stressreduction #stress #anxiety #anxietyawareness #stressawareness #burnoutprevention #mentalhealth #mentalwellbeing #mentalwellness #mentalwellnessmatters

🌟Emotional skills aren't "soft skills"; they're essential human capacities! As Susan David, Ph.D. rightly highlights, emotions are at the heart of everything that matters in our lives and workplaces. 👉 Let's ditch the outdated term and recognize their significance in fostering mental health, innovation, and relationships. 🎯Embedding soft skills development in career coaching ensures individuals can navigate dynamic work environments with resilience and empathy. 💡Bonus tip: not everything that matters can be measured, just like the big piece of pie symbolizes. #SoftSkills #LifelongLearning

View my verified achievement from Coursera. 🚀 Unlocking the Power of Emotional and Social Intelligence for Personal and Professional Growth 🧠🌱 Emotional and Social Intelligence (ESI) is increasingly recognized as a crucial skill set for navigating today's fast-paced world. From managing emotions in times of uncertainty to fostering empathy and assertiveness, ESI can transform our interactions and enhance our ability to handle stress, build relationships, and make better decisions. In our recent learning journey, we explored key areas that are essential for developing ESI: 1️⃣ Emotional and Social Intelligence – Understanding the four quadrants: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management, and their impact on professional success. 2️⃣ Psychological First Aid – Gaining skills to respond to people in crisis, utilizing the RAPID model to assess, prioritize, intervene, and provide ongoing support. 3️⃣ Managing Emotions in Times of Uncertainty & Stress – Exploring strategies for recognizing, understanding, and labeling emotions to improve health, performance, and relationships. 4️⃣ Empathy for Self and Others – Embracing empathy as a learned skill, enabling us to understand both our own and others' emotions more deeply. 5️⃣ Being Assertive with Emotional Intelligence – Developing assertiveness techniques to express thoughts confidently and respectfully, especially in challenging situations. Let's leverage the power of ESI to create more emotionally intelligent workplaces and communities. When we recognize and manage our emotions effectively, we can foster empathy, reduce stress, and improve our overall well-being. 🌍💚 Takeaways: Self-Awareness is the Foundation: Understanding your emotions is the first step towards emotional intelligence and better decision-making. Empathy Bridges Connections: Practicing empathy enhances our ability to relate to others, making us more effective in personal and professional settings. Assertiveness Leads to Growth: Being assertive with emotional intelligence allows us to navigate conflicts and communicate effectively. #EmotionalIntelligence #SocialIntelligence #MentalHealth #SelfAwareness #StressManagement #Empathy #Assertiveness #PsychologicalFirstAid #ProfessionalDevelopment #EmotionalSupport #WorkplaceWellbeing #PersonalGrowth #EmotionalWellbeing #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #ContinuousLearning #SoftSkills #Mindfulness #ChangeManagement #MentalHealth #Mindfulness #OrganizationalDevelopment #Communication #ManagingStress #ActiveListening #ReflectiveListening #ProfessionalDevelopment #WorkplaceWellbeing #GrowthMindset #SelfImprovement #EmotionalSkills #Assertiveness #MentalHealthMatters #EmotionalResilience #Wellbeing #CriticalThinking #CrisisManagement #LifelongLearning #CUDLL #CUCourseraLearnathon2024 #CCLBadge2024 #ChandigarhUniversity Department of Lifelong Learning(DLL), Chandigarh University

One week into my new role with Arden Matheson, what have I learnt so far......... 💫 Client diversity is incredible, I've observed training sessions within the recruitment sector, STEM businesses and a global operation with delegates based in the US. 💫 Content is wide reaching. So far, I've witnessed everything from self-leadership to client engagement, building your own personal brand, high performance & client meetings. These sessions take a deep dive into the topic, they are high energy and insightful. The team have run virtual and face to face training this week. I've witnessed them in action over Zoom - must admit I was overawed by how they engage with the groups, the level of energy they create and importantly the take-aways each person gets from the training. The delegates actively speak about what a difference the training is making to them, not only in their level of success but also their confidence. 💫 It's safe to say I'm working with individuals who are at the top of their game. I'm witnessing master's at work. I hadn't realised how much I missed working within a team, the level of support and collaboration has been on another level. I've gone home every day with a huge smile, they are so positive and full of energy, just the perfect environment for me. 💫 Insights is a program the team run for many of their clients, I had the opportunity to complete my Insights profile and running through the details with Josie was a great opportunity for some self-reflection. The report is unbelievably accurate - great to see the comment 'psychology, counselling and educational interests may hold a great appeal to her as part of her business role'. I can't wait to learn more about Insights, it is such a powerful tool. Already looking forward to next week 😊 Holly Arden, Josie O'Hanlon, Katie Taberner, Tim Hewitt
