In the beginning of my journey towards having a family, I would never have guessed how difficult it is to maintain an informed and research-based approach to pregnancy and childbirth. For example, I naively assumed that health care professionals always have the most up-to-date research-based knowledge at their disposal. Encountering so much lacking information, urban myths, and old wives tales levels of understanding, I had to take on a serious self-study attitude. My blog post presents my experiences of navigating the jungle of (mis)information around pregnancy and birthing, and hopefully could help another future parent in finding a sane and informed approach to this interesting but challenging phase of life: https://lnkd.in/eXwtqqq8

This Baby Loss Awareness Week, ask your MP to speak up on pregnancy and baby loss. By getting MPs involved, we can show that together we care, and that care creates change. MPs who understand why pregnancy and baby loss matter can help us hold the government to account on issues such as maternity safety, inequality and mental health. Take two minutes to ask your new MP to speak up about baby loss: https://lnkd.in/ehAkFnh7 Baby Loss Awareness Week #BLAW #ectopicpregnancy

Zanele didn't let pregnancy stop her from finishing high school. Pregnant women and girls should know that no school, TVET, or university can exclude them due to pregnancy. Workplaces are also required to support and provide time off for pregnant women. Your dreams are important, and with the right support, you can balance academics, employment and parenting.🤰💼 https://lnkd.in/dHny7ZeW #PregnancyAwarenessWeek
