Coal Australia about ‘restoring pride’ in an industry contributing billions to the economy Coal Australia Chairman Nick Jorss joined Sky News host Paul Murray to discuss restoring pride in Australia’s coal industry which puts “$100 billion into the economy”. “Coal Australia is a grassroots movement,” Mr Jorss said. “It’s really representing our workers, our communities. “Coal is … putting $100 billion into the economy and the community every year. “Something we should rightly be proud of. “What we’re aiming to do is to just restore that pride and get that message out there.” https://lnkd.in/gCngkk98

Bush support collapses in energy transition’s moment of reckoning ==> Fossil fuel companies attacked renewable energy via the Murdoch family's News Corp media assets in Australia. Whilst Rupert Murdoch and his family may not be climate change denialists, for them, the profits that News Corp is making from fossil fuel companies is more important than mitigating the threat to the lives of young Australians. This is similar to the way the Murdoch family and News Corp stripped and laundered the constitutional rights to freedom of Australia's young people. If the fight to defend our planet is a war, then the Murdoch family are our enemies and we must learn to see them as such and to treat them as enemy combatants in a war against young Australians. The threat we face is that of a "billionaires life raft" in which everyday people become expendable through AI and robotic automation. We already know that Gina Rhinehart, who is an Objectivist, has refused to distance herself from her father's genocide proposal. Australians may think "oh, that could never happen here". But it already has. Henry Kissinger's comments about food security, energy security and the money supply chain are very important. He said "whoever controls the food supply chain, controls your nation. Whoever controls your energy supply chain, controls your continent. And whoever controls the money supply chain, controls the world." We can already see that the Murdoch family has used its News Corp media assets to cover up a parliamentary constitutional coup in Australia over the change to the definition of "resident" in Section 100 of the Australian Constitution, hidden during the War in Iraq. It is important to understand the cover ups associated with the ANZAC Legend and our Baptism of Fire. It is fossil fuel companies who are behind the War in Iraq, working with Rupert Murdoch and News Corp. Take a look at the relationship between the Murdoch family, News Corp and Israel, and the Liberal Party under Peter Dutton, who was involved in the horticulture industry human trafficking operation when he was Minister for Home Affairs and wake up. Australia is under attack. And it is rights and opportunities for young Australians that are being stripped. ==> Complaint to the United States Security and Exchange Commission about bribery of foreign politicians (Foreign Corrupt Practices) by News Corp, the Murdoch family, CT Group and their US, UK and Australian clients - https://lnkd.in/gwup4MuC ==> The Crown is using secrecy laws to cover up crimes that are against our national interests - https://lnkd.in/gRMhExjk ==> From the American Revolutionary War to the loss of Australia's constitutional rights to freedom from slavery - https://lnkd.in/gbcWEcwk ==> Read about Benedict Arnold, the American traitor during their War of Independence, who secretly sold the West Point military academy to the British. https://lnkd.in/gKv6r-Xs .

I was invited on NPR yesterday to talk about Taylor Swift, private jets and the Polluter Elite. https://lnkd.in/eMRfKX4e On 41min 30 seconds "The Polluter Elite are optional, it's not fixed, it's not inevitable. Inequality can be reduced by increasing taxes on the richest, and, we have the clean technologies that could greatly replace polluting technologies” On 42mins 25 secs what the richest people like Taylor Swift can do: "The richest people have a choice. Are they on the side of the fossil fuel industry and their allies OR on the side of clean technologies? They can't just sit on the fence. By making the choice to invest in and politically back clean technologies they can contribute to putting pressure on governments who can enable those systemic wide changes - like a national EV charging network and an electricity grid running on more solar and wind energy. On 33mins if anyone is going to have a carbon tax put on them it should be the richest. A carbon tax should not be put on the rest of the population who didn't design the energy and transport system. I was joined by Kimberly Nicholas, Jennie C. Stephens & host Esther Ciammachilli for a fascinating discussion. CC: Peter Newell Lewis Akenji Max Lawson Lucas Chancel Benjamin Sovacool

It’s remarkable to see such a surge in applications for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. This is a clear indicator of the collective effort towards sustainable living. #FutureIsGreen #Innovation
Today, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has released the official Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) data for February 2024. It shows that there were 2,371 voucher applications this February, which is 75% higher than the volume received in the previous February. Ian Rippin, CEO at MCS, said “The latest government figures show that applications to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme are up 75% on February 2023. This highlights that more people are looking to low carbon heating sources for their home. MCS data backs this – we’ve just seen the highest performing February for heat pumps in scheme history with 4,280 installations. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme remains a vital part of making home-grown energy more affordable and accessible and today’s figures highlights that people are continuing to take advantage of government grants to make that switch to greener and cleaner energy.” Read more here 👇

Successful energy bid We are delighted to share the news that we have won our bid for the Social Housing Decarbonisation Funding. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) have announced that £75 million has been awarded to 42 councils and housing associations. Our ambitious bid means that over the next two years we will be able to retrofit 121 homes. This means we will be improving the insulation, ventilation and adding solar PV panels to these homes. Andy Arnold, Head of Asset Management at Wandle said, “Winning this bid means we can focus on future proofing our homes, so they are both energy and cost efficient for our residents. “Our purpose is to support people, across south london, who need a home. We are helping to tackle the shortage of good quality affordable housing, and this includes energy consumption.” Our energy saving programme aims to reduce energy consumption by 2475 kWh per year and reduce energy bills by up to £325 per year for some of our residents living in the least energy efficient homes. In addition, all 121 homes will achieve EPC Band C. Central Government will also provide funding of £1,018 million towards the work. The full list of successful applicants have been published by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) and can be found here >

We've responded to today's news from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (https://lnkd.in/eZEWVM9K) 👇 🗣 David Whitehouse, OEUK CEO: “It is right for the nation’s energy security to replace ageing infrastructure with new gas fired power stations. Today gas remains the single largest source for UK electricity generation and will remain a critical part of our energy mix in the decades to come. On our journey to net zero, we should be making the most of our own UK gas reserves rather than imports. Backing our homegrown energy sector grows our economy, boosts jobs across our world class supply chain and delivers reliable supplies of cleaner energy for the UK." We've launched an industry manifesto calling on all parties and policymakers to choose a homegrown energy transition. You can download a free copy at the link below. 🔗 www.oeuk.org.uk/manifesto

🎙️ Britain will have burned its last lump of coal today, at least as far as power generation goes. It's a remarkable achievement, make no mistake, and hopefully will serve as a template or inspiration for other countries to follow suit. For today's episode of The Jolt, I was joined by Peter Sainsbury and Alexandru Mustata to dig deeper into the UK's coal phaseout. How did it happen? Is the job completely done? And what can other countries learn from it? Check it out here or on the FORESIGHT Climate & Energy app: https://lnkd.in/dUawXtY8
