Professional Testing Corporation (PTC)’s Post

WE ARE PRESENTING AT #CLEAR2023AEC PTC’s own Marlene Dunham, Vicki Gremelsbacker, and weiyi cheng are being joined by AMFTRB Executive Director Lois PaffBergen and Attorney Steven T. Peluso, Esq. Peluso at the 2023 CLEAR Annual Educational Conference in Salt Lake City. We are presenting a session titled “Adapting Testing Policies to Keep Up with Test Administration Irregularities.” This session will present an overview of current testing irregularity policies and candidate communications drawn from a survey conducted of numerous licensure and certification programs. The focus will be on common irregularities during a test administration - despite the exam modality, how organizations have developed policies in response, and how policies are communicated to candidates. Not only can irregularities be disruptive and threaten the security of examination content, they can also threaten score validity and fairness and have legal repercussions. Prevention, detection, and resolution all need to be considered. We will explore AMFTRB’s process to serve as a model for a fair and standardized testing irregularity policy and communication to candidates. We hope to see you in #SLC this week!
