The National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well Being (NSCAW) is the only source of nationally representative, longitudinal data on the well-being of children and families involved with the child welfare system. Conducting the third cohort, NSCAW III, proved more challenging methodologically than previous NSCAW cohorts and included additional obstacles such as the COVID-19 pandemic interrupting data collection.
