As May draws to a close, let's take a moment to highlight an important observance: Mental Health Awareness Month. For 75 years, this annual event has raised awareness about mental health and promoted well-being for everyone. We are inspired by the “Rituals We Share” video, part of the “Love, Your Mind” campaign, a partnership of the Ad Council and Huntsman Mental Health Institute in collaboration with 11 professional sports leagues and organizations. In this video, star athletes share the steps they take to care for their minds, both on and off the field. By highlighting these mental health rituals, the campaign aims to inspire sports fans across the country to nurture their own mental health.
Mental health affects everyone, regardless of age, gender, or profession. In the construction industry, we face unique challenges related to mental health. High-pressure deadlines, physical demands, and job insecurity can contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression. It is crucial to acknowledge these concerns and actively work toward promoting mental health within our industry.
