10 things I've learned while interning at Kings Peak Elementary! 1. These teachers are so devoted to teaching their kids. They do rotations, groups, and personalized plans for their students. Doing this helps them learn. 2. Kids can be hard to reach at times and it takes patience to get them to understand things. 3. It is so rewarding being able to help little kids. These younger years are fundamental to their lives. 4. Recognizing good behavior and improvement is so important to these kids and encourages them to be the best they can. 5. Kids can be hard to understand sometimes so helping them clear things up is an important part of teaching. 6. one on one time with kids that struggle is so important and as an aid I am able to help the class accomplish that. 7. Children notice small things all the time. It amazes me how observant and attentive they are. 8. sometimes I need more patience when I go than other times because it can be really hard. 9. I've learned kids find routine so important. It is crazy to me how they react when they break routine. They know what comes next and they know what they need to be doing but they can find it hard to switch it up.  10. Kids need guidance and I'm happy I can give them that.

Summer Break! What does this mean in the education realm? Well it is the end of the school year or coming close to the end. There is a flurry of activities. There are some students frantic to get those grades in to meet requirements for promotion or for graduation. In a typical classroom, the teachers are packing up, administering final examinations, preparing report cards. Overall, there is a community of people- faculty and students waiting to exhale. Students will go off to camp/or enjoy two months of lazy days. Teachers get a chance to practice the essential self care, travel, rest, and rejuvenate. Those last 10 months! Welcome summer break.
