Kenan Saleh used no-code to build a significant part of the solution. Brands pay Halo Cars to place ads on screens fitted on top of cabs, as well as for the management of their marketing campaigns. The digital advertising solution provides a great side hustle for taxi drivers, as it allows them to earn extra income 💰 while on their primary job. Note that Lyft bought Halo Cars less than a year after Kenan and his co-founder launched it, and still maintains a no-code approach on most of its elements to date. In 1963 Avis released this ad campaign in response to being 2nd behind Hertz in the car rental market. Trying to play catch up to the market leader, Avis couldn’t afford to not try harder. As a local agency we can’t compete with the massive ad budgets of Flo or the Gecko, or private equity firms buying up the smaller agencies. But we can try harder. We can try harder to create a personal touch. We can try harder to provide as much value to our community as they do to us. We can try harder to ensure our team is made up of knowledgeable advisors, and not just order takers. We can try harder to be the agency WE would actually want to do business with. We may never be the largest agency, but we can and will always…. try harder.

🚗 Ads in the Automotive category usually feel - 'same-ish' 🚗 Like you've seen them before, you know what's going to happen - picture a fancy countryside back drop, probably some winding deserted roads, kind of like that video that went viral all those years ago when something would jump out and scare you at the end - IYKYK. 😱 My point is, it has just become a bit boring. 😴 The challenge the Automotive category face, is that the chances of someone seeing your ad and already being in 'buying mode' are slim, a car is a high value product that is not purchased regularly. 💰 There is even more of a need to stand out, think outside the box, be memorable. So when your buyer is ready to buy, your ad and product are top of mind. 🤯 Take the below, Škoda Group ad for example; an entire car made from Cake. This was a fresh and engaging way to communicate the car and its features to the audience.
