📣 The moment of glory for the AI Act has finally arrived! After many final votes and signatures, the AI Act has been published in the Official Journal of the EU, signifying it will enter into force on 2 August. While this marks the end of an EU legislative success story, it also kicks off a journey for the many businesses that will have to comply with the AI Act’s provisions. As explained by our Director Cathy Kremer in our Beyond the Ballot podcast, the EU is preparing this journey with the help of its brand-new AI Office. While some worry the AI Office might be too business-driven or on the contrary too inaccessible for stakeholders, the first question is the following: 📌 How will the AI Office gather the invaluable input of businesses driving AI? The AI Office should reveal more on the organisation of its stakeholder consultations by the end of this month. However, access to these consultations, gathering civil society organisations and experts across various sectors, might prove less easy than anticipated. At Publyon, we are committed to getting your voice heard. We always believe in the capacity of the EU to listen to its business ecosystem, yet we also like to look beyond the traditional frame of stakeholder consultations and into more direct and impactful solutions for your business to shape the future of AI. 🔜 Stay tuned for our upcoming announcement…

In a world awash with data, AI promises to revolutionize decision-making. But can we afford to trust algorithms without the vital touch of human insight? The Double-Edged Sword of AI-Driven Decision-Making Frameworks In an era where data reigns supreme, AI-driven decision-making frameworks promise remarkable efficiency and accuracy. Organizations can reduce decision-making time by up to 80% and improve accuracy by 70%. However, this allure comes with cautionary tales. Efficiency vs. Oversight While AI excels at processing vast amounts of data, it lacks the nuanced understanding that human judgment provides. Over-reliance on AI can lead to decisions that miss critical contextual factors. Integrating a Human in the Loop (HITL) approach is essential to ensure that AI complements, rather than replaces, human insight. Hidden Costs of Implementation The path to adopting AI can be costly and complex. While the prospect of cutting operational costs by 30% is appealing, organizations often underestimate the resources needed for successful integration. This oversight can lead to frustration and wasted potential. A Balanced Approach To navigate the complexities of AI-driven decision-making, businesses must strike a balance. Assess current capabilities, define clear objectives, and invest in training to empower teams to work alongside AI effectively. In summary, while AI-driven decision-making frameworks offer transformative potential, they also present significant challenges. By recognizing both the benefits and pitfalls, organizations can harness AI strategically and responsibly, ensuring competitiveness in a rapidly evolving landscape. This version captures the essence of the original article while being more succinct, making it easier for readers to digest the key points. #AI #AIDecisionMaking #AIBusinessStrategy #AITransformation #AICompetitiveEdge #DataDrivenDecisions

By prioritizing key functions to automate and optimize, you can prove the value of AI integration to stakeholders. 2. Ensure data quality and integrity For the success of your AI strategy, your data must be clean, structured, and complete. This will help your AI model deliver more accurate and valuable insights that improve the efficiency of your business processes and decision-making. 3. Be open to innovation and experimentation The best way your business can truly reap the rewards of AI is by staying open to innovation and experimentation. By adopting new approaches and opportunities, you can find new ways to leverage the full potential of AI technology. 4. Get help and support from the experts Transitioning to a new technology on your own can be challenging. Consider partnering with an IT service provider like us to access the expertise and tools you need to ensure you implement best practices. 5. AI is a hot topic on the minds of many leaders, including those at Multiverse. Which is why it was brilliant having our CRO, Alex Varel, and CTO/CPO, Ujjwal Singh, meet with data and technology leaders at top UK companies to explore the topic of fuelling the data & AI skills evolution. The themes of the dinner centred around: 💡 How organisations approach AI and what opportunities are available 🤖 How AI is transforming learning and work and how to develop the critical skills required to harness its power 📖 How to foster an inclusive learning environment that enables individuals of all backgrounds to thrive in the data and AI ecosystem These dinners give us such incredible insight into the problems and opportunities our customers face, enabling us to build more effective solutions. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and shared their perspective 🥂 If you’re interested in leveraging AI in your organisation check out of AI for Business Value programme: https://lnkd.in/edHK8HCE #AI #upskilling #transformation

Trustworthy AI has become a differentiator and a key enabler for AI business models. It requires executive attention and leadership. Last week we conducted our trustworthy AI strategy roundtable with our appliedAI Initiative GmbH partners, where we presented a systematic approach for companies to take a strategic position on trustworthy AI. There are strong parallels to strategic data privacy positions – ideally, the two topics go hand in hand. For more in-depth insights, take a look at the article on strategic data privacy positions that I published together with Professor Felix Wortmann and Lefteris Patrikis (https://lnkd.in/d9YUri3j). Thank you very much for your contribution to the roundtable: Desiree Modic, Sebastian Hanser, Susanne Klausing, Peter Hofmann, Lukas K., Manuel Jiménez Mérida, Regina Straub, Sladjana Schmidt and Britta Tilsner #ai #digitaltrust #trustworthy #innovation #strategy

Though AI is the most transformational technology available today, it is a hard thing to take an existing business in a traditional industry and go all in on AI to transform its capabilities. Organizations seeking to be powered by AI in other industries share the goal of intuitive technology and pervasive intelligence but are applying those objectives to their own industries, such as financial services, manufacturing, or health care. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗜-𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 - book by Tom Davenport and Nitin Mittal, provides insights into how large firms that existed well before AI are transforming themselves with the help of that technology. This book is a recommended read for leaders and their teams who envision to take AI to next level on their own organizations. #artificialintelligence #artificialintelligenceforbusiness #readingbooks

Data drives economic growth and efficiencies. It propels breakthroughs in science, health, and research. It energizes legitimate, innovative, and beneficial business purposes. Indeed, the explosive growth of generative AI has put in sharp focus the power of digitization and the value of data for proper development and functioning of AI. At the same time, data and its use have become highly regulated, carrying compliance, commercial, and reputational risks. It is perhaps not surprising that corporate C-suites and Boards have traditionally focused on data through the lens of legal compliance, risk, and liability, putting it squarely within the purview of risk, audit, and governance committees. In this white paper, we propose a roadmap for building a holistic data strategy that seeks to align the Board and C-suite on data-driven initiatives and provide a framework for promoting innovative and responsible uses of data, including the development and deployment of powerful AI technologies. AI is Not the Future: It's the Present. AI is not just about competitive edge anymore. It's about relevance in the swiftly modernizing landscape. There’s no room for complacency when the rest of your industry is on a sprint. While we are encouraged by all of the early adopters we have been working with, there are still organizations who are hiding their head in the sand, hoping the world they are comfortable in will somehow make a comeback. But the truth is, the world has already moved on. AI isn’t simply the “next big thing.” It’s the current thing. It is here. There is no going back. Do you want to be in an organizations that doesn't use excel? Do you want to be in an organization that pays employees with paper checks only? Then surely you wouldn't want to be in an organization that isn't implementing tailored AI into its workflows and operations. A Harvard Business School study has already shown that organizations utilizing AI have achieved a notable 12% more tasks, 25% quicker, and escalated their work quality by an astounding 40%. And they've accomplished all of this without an iota of increase in headcount. A year from now, you don't want to find your organization lagging behind competitors, tarnished by a glaring deficiency - the absence of AI.
