We're pleased to announce a joint venture between Communities Rise and the Puget Sound Grantwriters Association to boost your chances of receiving grants! This FREE monthly grant assistance program is designed to support community-based organizations that serve communities impacted by systemic oppression and that do not have a grantwriter. This month's sessions will be July 15 between 3:30 and 6 pm. Here's how it works: 1. An organization schedules a grant assistance appointment with Communities Rise by emailing cbclinics@communities-rise.org. 2. Requesting orgs bring application guidelines, draft proposal, an unfunded proposal, or questions about grants. 3. An experienced grantwriter meets the team virtually to provide individualized guidance. These services are FREE and available by appointment only. Can’t make this one? Grantwriting consultation happens each month--contact Communities Rise today to schedule for a future date.

Rest and recharge is paramount when you are a business owner. I recently took a weekend trip to Las Vegas. 🎊🔥🙌🏾 Known for its glitz and glamour, Las Vegas is a place that has something for everyone. One thing Vegas is also known for is gambling. In life, I see nonprofit leaders: 🎲 Roll the dice on grant applications hoping for a win. 🎲Not being strategic in how they go about grant funding. 🎲 Writing grant applications on a whim without building a relationship first. 🫠 Don't let this be you. Don't gamble away your programming, those you serve, or your staff. Let's get strategic. Let's first start with the most common grant application questions: https://lnkd.in/dBU62MN Compose thoughtful responses to these questions. This is the first step on the journey of "thinking" before "inking" your next grant application. #grant #grantwriter #grantapplicationquestions

💡 Reshare: Two practical ideas to increase unrestricted funding In his blog, Nick Addington from William Grant Foundation shared ideas about how to make more grant funding unrestricted and the benefits of doing so. The two following ideas are explained, with considerations about why funders could adopt this level of flexibility: 🔹 Turn restricted project grants into ‘designated’ unrestricted grants 🔹 Add general operating support to project support Do Nick's words resonate – have you considered changing (or already changed) your funding practice to lean more towards unrestricted grant-making? Or are you a grantee who has felt the impact of this? 🔗 Read in full: buff.ly/3V4PTeH
