While working at the NRF show last week, the OptConnect team helped two exhibitors connect their equipment to the internet, putting an end to their downtime. One had a DIY cellular solution that works in theory, but couldn't get connected when there was a low signal strength. The neo2 was an immediate solution to their problem, because it was designed for unattended locations with problems connecting. Another new customer assumed they could rely on exhibit provided wi-fi to connect their device and learned that the speed provided was not strong enough for real time transaction processing. "Consider it done" could both be an applicable slogan for game changing REX partners. From 2014-2020 the wristband travelled to 35 markets globally and only came off for games as a football referee. When the Unilever laptop returned in December 2020 the wristband came off as it was job professionally done and completed. Having recently written about "Commercial Maturity" for IR partner selection alongside Technical and commercial evaluations, selecting REX partners who "walk the walk" (to show that something is true by your actions rather than your words) and not just "talk the talk" (to talk or act in a confident way so that you seem to be very good at what you do) is not always easy for CPGs to distinguish until the pilot is a disaster.... Building an eco-system of truly value added game changing (consider it done) partners for CPGs (Field marketing, POS data, IR, Crowd, SFA) takes in-depth subject matter knowledge and skills.
