Croke park v Lansdowne road…? Like Irish unity there’s a thought you’d think might never happen. However, money always talks. It could solve a lot of problems- 1. Athmosphere “Compared with the regular Six Nations crowd, the World Cup attendees were younger and more boisterous, drawn from across the spectrum of sports. When it comes to spring, many of those supporters find themselves locked out by the model that sees the union distribute their tickets through the clubs, who often bundle at least some of them and sell them to corporate entities and travel companies. The income they generate funds the sport at a local level, but an additional capacity would allow the union to investigate ways to tap into the latent interest from the World Cup” Enjoyment- It will stop the boozers in the stands destroying the enjoyment of the others. Far more can attend. Money- It would generate a lot more, and perish the thought, the IRFU might even reduce prices to encourage real fans. So how about leaving the RDS and Lansdowne road? Allow Leinster use it. The GAA use it. More Concerts. As the IRFU don’t really care about their Patrons once they get their money that won’t be an issue. They side step a changing culture towards boozing.
Ruaidhri O’Connor: Croke Park is looming large over Irish rugby – can the IRFU resist its lure?

If more companies actually took steps to "grow the game" instead of just repeating the line over and over again, we would all be better for it. Golf consumers are starting to see through those empty words. Here is a simple equation: More golfers + more enjoyment = Increased demand across the industry Let's push each other to do more things that make people feel welcome, break down the cost barriers, and help people learn about this complicated game.
Today, in honor of The Masters, we gave away our kid's golf clubs for FREE. We announced on Instagram and TikTok that from 8am-3pm we would be giving away kid's club for free at the GolfRoots HQ here in Dallas, Texas. Sure enough, folks were waiting in the parking lot before 8, and people streamed in throughout the day. We love getting to share this game, and making golf accessible to kids is a great way to do it. Thank you to the members at our Partner Courses who make this possible. Stay tuned, there may be more to come in this space!

$389,000,000 Always nice to start a post with a big number! $389,000,000 represents the size of the total prize funds available on the PGA Tour for the 37 events that make up the 2023/24 season, excluding the season-ending Tour Championship. The PGA Tour's event structure has undergone subtle tweaks for this season, with eight events now designated as signature events with total prize funds of $20 million on the line. The Player's Championship commands the biggest purse of $25 million, $4 million ahead of the highest-paying major championship, the U.S. Open. So, where are the majors left in the financial war that has raged ever since LIV Golf came on the scene? Is the PGA Tour's desire to compete with LIV financially sustainable? What impact does the need for ever-greater riches have on title sponsors? Our latest article looks at all these relationships. This team has been a faithful partner to Havenwood for a long time. They've supported our mission financially, as well as generously given of their skills, expertise, and time. They are true partners, generous in every sense of the word and we deeply appreciate their corporate culture. We can learn some great lessons from corporations like Kendal King. 1. Communicate - knowing your charitable priorities for next year helps nonprofits be better stewards. Even if the news is disappointing to your nonprofit, the communication is a gift in itself. 2. Mutual advocacy- Helping your partner tell their story helps the partnership. Charities should have a basic understanding of your business and companies should understand the charities mission. 3. Transparency - The charity has the responsibility of being a partner the members of your company can be proud to support. We partner by celebrating the wins and sharing the disappointments. Thank you Kendal King for being a huge part of empowering single mothers and their children to move from crisis to self-sufficiency. We are grateful.
