We’re on a mission to improve patient care through safe, nonthermal minimally invasive procedures. See how our now FDA-cleared CellFX® Nanosecond Pulsed Field Ablation (nsPFA™) technology is getting us there: https://bit.ly/3Sb9VnB Indications for Use: The CellFX Percutaneous Electrode System is FDA Cleared for use in the US and intended for ablation of soft tissue in percutaneous, and intraoperative surgical procedures. The CellFX System is also intended for dermatological procedures requiring ablation and resurfacing of the skin. #nsPFA #Ablation #PulsedFieldAblation

**New surgical technique** **New publication** Guthrie J. (2014) Minimally invasive dorsal transarticular tibio-metatarsal plate for temporary hock immobilisation. Vet Rec Case Rep. e847. https://lnkd.in/eJcFq-Rp 4 years ago, when we were at the end of the first COVID lockdown, I had a patient with an Achilles rupture. I wanted to protect the primary repair by maintaining hock extension during the initial healing phase. Given the need to limit travel/contact due to COVID I wanted something that would require no maintenance, unlike an ESF or cast; and something more robust than a calcaneotibial screw. So I thought about a temporary plate that could be applied and removed quickly with a small surgical approach. It continues to be a successful technique for me and this report describes the first few cases. May be something to have have in your repertoire and consider for a future case?

X-linked retinoschisis (#XLRS) is an #InheritedRetinalDisease (IRD) that is often diagnosed in childhood. Approximately 30,000 males in the U.S. and EU have XLRS, for which there are no approved treatments. To learn more about living with XLRS, we spoke with patient Brendon Cavainolo and IRD specialist & vitreoretinal surgeon, Christine Kay, MD. Check out the video here: https://lnkd.in/grzEZVMt Brendon and other patients with #VisionLoss drive our passion and commitment to developing innovative #GeneTherapies for IRDs. Image description: In the top left corner, the Atsena Therapeutics logo is displayed. The text reads, "See Brendon’s Story About Living with XLRS.” There are three images of patient Brendon Cavainolo interacting with IRD specialist & vitreoretinal surgeon, Christine Kay, MD. The largest image, centered on a laptop screen, shows Brendon undergoing an eye examination with Dr. Kay using specialized equipment. To the left, on a smartphone screen, Dr. Kay is speaking. To the right, on a tablet screen, Brendon is sitting and speaking in a home setting.

The range of absorbable #haemostats from Boz Medical can be used in the majority of surgical operations, developed to stop #capillarybleeding, #parenchymatous bleeding and #recessionbleeding. The range comprises 4 products, each providing strength, speed & resistance against bacteria. ✅ #Reoxcel® has a sterile, light knit formation to help cover uneven tissue. It can be sutured and cut without any wear, has a durable structure and is designed to stop bleeding in capillary bleeding and parenchymatous organ bleeding. ✅ #Reoxcel® Sigma Knit has a dense web structure, ideal where wrapping is required. It can also be laid, pressed, covered, or sutured to bleeding surfaces. When in contact with blood, this haemostat creates a gel-like mass to promote clot in 3-4 minutes. This acts as physical structure where blood particles can stick and create a #fibrine plate formation. When used at minimum levels and with appropriate methods, it can be absorbed at implantation areas without tissue reaction. Absorption depends on tissue type, amount of haemostat and blood saturation level. ✅ #Reoxcel® Fibril structure enables the surgeon to reach difficult areas while maintaining structure and efficiency. It is well suited for use in cavities and in endoscopic operations. ✅ #Zeocel® absorbable haemostat is designed to stop other different types of capillary bleeding and control leakage based on tissue resection in any type of surgical operation Email #DeltaSurgical on sales@deltasurgical.co.uk for more information on each product. https://lnkd.in/eEerjmwY

When facing a #high-risk #PCI, the patient's life may be at stake. With the help of the #iVAC2L, you protect their #heart, allowing the procedure to be performed more #safely and calmly. ❤️🩹 The iVAC 2L by PulseCath BV provides 2 liters of #pulsatile flow synchronized with the patient's #ECG. Its operation is as simple as: inserting it into the patient's left #ventricle, connecting it to the #IABP console, and switching it ON. 🩺 Additionally, it can be positioned above the #aortic valve for patients with mechanical prostheses, severe stenosis… or even to perform #TAVIs and #MitraClip. #CardiologyInnovation #MedicalDevices #HeartHealth #InterventionalCardiology #PatientSafety

Gluteal augmentation with autologous fat transfer is one of the fastest growing aesthetic surgical procedures worldwide over the past decade. However, this procedure can be associated with high mortality from fatal pulmonary fat embolism events caused by intramuscular injection of fat. Ultrasound-guided fat grafting allows visualization of the transfer in the subcutaneous space, avoiding intramuscular injection. Objectives The aim of this study was to assess the safety and efficacy of gluteal fat grafting performed with ultrasound-guided cannulation. 🔗Read the paper: https://lnkd.in/ewTNt8tq
