Supply chains aren't in the clear just yet following the recent Canada #RailStrike. While labor has resumed at CN and CPKC under forced arbitration, operations are still a long way from normal. Tensions are mounting with the Teamsters’ appeal against the labor board, and the impact is already being felt: 📈 44% increase in origin railyard dwell times as operations struggle to stabilize. 📉 80% decrease in destination #railyard dwell—low volumes for now, but congestion could rise as backlogged freight arrives. Supply Chain Workforce Solutions I 3pl I Warehouse Labor I Distribution Center Labor I Full-Service Warehouse Management I On-Demand Labor I Freight Brokerage
This morning, I read an interesting South Carolina Ports’ article about how South Carolina's inland port network is helping retailers, manufacturers, and agricultural producers. My summary: Speed and Sustainability: These rail-connected ports are speeding up imports and exports. Moving containers by train also helps lower pollution. Cost-Effective Solutions: Using rail transport is like a hidden advantage for those who own cargo. It helps you manage costs better and move goods faster. Inland Port Dillon: This port supports major retailers and farmers with products like soybeans and cottonseed. Exciting news—cargo volumes reached a record high in April. Inland Port Greer: This is a key spot for leading manufacturers and big retailers. Even better, they're planning to double their ability to handle cargo. The improvements at South Carolina's inland ports are making logistics more efficient and eco-friendly. With more space and quicker transport times, these ports could really help change how supply chains operate. Check out the full article in the comments for more details. #SCports #Charleston ##PortDillon #PortGreer #PortOfCharleston #SupplyChain
