Side-Entry Mixers of Storage Tanks Side entry mixers are installed for mixing the product and to prevent settlement of sediment. There are two types of motorised side entry mixers: fixed, and variable angle. Variable angle mixers are used to ensure coverage of the entire bottom area and prevent stagnant regions. A location not reached by the circulating currents induced by the mixer may suffer from extra corrosion due to the sediment and collected water at that spot. Areas where there is preferential settlement of sediment should receive attention when a tank is opened for internal inspection. The movable parts of the side entry mixers should also be inspected for leakage. Side entry mixers should never be switched on when a floating roof is closer than 2.5m from the circle described by the impeller. Side entry mixers switched on with the floating roof in a lower position may easily damage the roof, particularly the seal. This also applies when floating roofs are installed in fixed roof tanks. #oil #tank #storage #crude #refinery #terminal #plant #facilities #operation #process #safety #learning #engineering #inspection #maintenance #desing #safedesing #oilandgas

Clients call us when we need to drill into live pipelines or tanks. Then we show up with our machines and make new connections or bypass problems (like leaks) without interrupting operations. This is called hot tapping and line-stopping. Just yesterday, I peered into a manhole with our GM for Maintenance Konrad Nieuwenhuizen (who leads all the hot tap teams) to watch a sewage and stormwater pumping station leak like a sieve. Impossible to switch off the station and repair these old lines. So, we will drill into this line and establish a bypass for them. The users (inhabitants of this popular tourist town) won't even know. It's pretty cool stuff. And we are really good at it. In the past few years, we have drilled into pipelines and tanks that are big, that are small, that are thick and thin and brittle, that contain molten salt or hot steam, spewing sewage, think sludge, heavy oil, and light gas. That were in the desert or cramped between an entanglement of other lines, on busy industrial plants, hundreds of kilometres out of the way, or underwater - not many places we have not tapped. We also purchased several smaller competitors and pulled their further experience and expertise into our fold. Not only that, but we also started designing and fabricating our own machines and fittings, including nice gate valves (look at the middle pic). Along the way we developed some nice IP that are built into our equipment. If you are a looking for a solution to a make new connection, fix leak or a stuck valve, etc., and you cannot switch off the operations, then give us a shout. If you don't need these services, then just like the little photo collage I spent ten minutes banging together. My graphic designer is on leave, so I had to google how to do it. Hey, teach a man to fish... -- I often post about engineering, infrastructure and industry. Also, updates (like this one) on the business we are building over at EPCM Holdings . Choose the right pump for your borehole. Would you like professional pump installation services for your borehole? Rocktech geoengineering services prioritize precision in every installation we undertake. What are the factors to consider when choosing the right pump? 🚰 borehole depth. Submersible pumps are required for boreholes that are deeper than 25 feet 🚰water flow rate. Variations of pumps from the design point determine the capacity of water to be delivered 🚰the power source for your pump 🚰pump type. Is it submersible (installed inside the borehole) or a surface pump (installed above ground) 🚰Water quality: Consider the presence of sand or other sediments that might affect pump performance Don’t settle for subpar pump installation services. Trust the experts to get the job done right. Contact us today to learn more about our pump installation services ☎ 🪀 0790918399 📧 info@roctechgeoengineering.co.ke

Clearance pumping is a critical phase in borehole development that removes drilling debris and encrustations near the borehole wall. We maintain a clean borehole environment by using procedures such as acidising and high impulse jetting. 💦 During clearing pumping, we vigorously pump the borehole to reduce the hydrostatic head and promote groundwater flow along remote fractures. This encourages loose particles to enter the borehole, as seen by turbidity peaks in pumped water. We raise the pumping rate until we achieve full capacity, with no more turbidity spikes or water level decrease. Once only clean groundwater has been pumped, the borehole is ready for testing. Take a look below for more information and don't forget, boreholes are our business. 👇 #borehole #boreholedrilling #drilcorp #boreholeengineering #watersupply #commercialwatersupply #geotechnicalengineering #geotechnical #waterwells #boreholemaintenance #boreholedevelopment #boreholetestpumping #boreholeacidisation #boreholeironremoval #boreholehighpressurejetting #boreholesurveys #groundsource #minesource

Making sure your high-pressure tooling and equipment is safe and compliant has always been a challenge. Since regular testing and tagging for high-pressure hydraulic tooling and equipment was mandated in Australia, sectors like mining, civil construction and power generation maintenance workshops, and on-site contractors have been significantly impacted. Recognising the potential upside of on-site testing and repair duration on operational efficiency for any site with high-pressure hydraulic tooling and equipment, a mobile testing service makes economic and environmental sense. But what sets one mobile high-pressure tool and equipment testing trailer apart from another? What range of service, testing and repair capabilities would it have? Read how CFP Singleton branch is making working life safer and more cost effective for sites operating high-pressure tooling and equipment in the Hunter: https://lnkd.in/gCBenppm #customfluidpower #CFPSingleton #mobileservice #highpressuretooling #highpressureequipment #hydraulicstesting
