We're thrilled to be celebrating Fair Wild week! We have been committed to supporting Fair Wild since our inception.... Why? Because if people can make a dignified livelihood from wild collection, they will not leave the rural areas or do activities that negatively impact the environment and key ancient knowledge about plants will be preserved. This is what FairWild defends. #ThePowerofWild #FairWildWeek #Weusewild #organics

Question - What have the following list of animals all got in common? Badgers, voles, moles, bats, beavers, deer, owls, grouse, buzzards, woodpeckers, kestrels, kingfishers, adders, frogs, toads, lizards, snakes, newts, butterflies, moths, beetles, bees, wasp, spiders, slugs and snails Answer - They are all found in habitats where there are trees planted by The Woodland Trust and which are supported by our amazing customers. Planting trees is great for our environment, but just as important are the natural habitats created to support our diverse variety of woodland wildlife and organisms. Right tree, right place - The Woodland Trust plants native trees in The UK in places where they will be most effective. Planting the right mix of species at the correct density is important for native biodiversity to flourish including fungi, flowers, grasses, mosses, lichens, and ferns We gave this little dormouse a gentle wash and blow-dry before we took his picture for this post 😉 THANKS to The Woodland Trust and a HUGE THANKS to our customers who continue to support tree planting and natural habitats in The UK #woodlandtrust #carboncapture #sustainableprinting

Did you know fritillary butterflies declined by 60% between 1990 and 2021? 🦋 We've been shining a light on some of Somerset's insects throughout #InsectWeek. Unfortunately, one of the key findings from our Somerset State of Nature Report was the steep decline of fritillary butterflies. The marsh fritillary butterfly is also now considered extinct in Somerset. Insect populations across the UK are experiencing significant declines, which is why it is vital we continue to collect information about their populations and breeding habits. Sharing any sightings you make of species like butterflies, bees, and beetles through platforms like iNaturalist can have a very real impact on these species — as it can make us aware of declines like this. 🔎 Set up an account with iNaturalist today and help us learn more about our insects: https://lnkd.in/eYeEiPUv #Somerset #Wildlife #Insects

We all rely on the survival of bees, don't we? Human activities are increasingly threatening bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats, and hummingbirds. Pollination is a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystem. Trees for the bees: Willows (Salix), Ash tree (Fraxinus ornus), Norway maple (Acer platanoides), Fruit trees (Prunus, Malus and Pyrus) and many more. #plantatree #ecosystem #bees
