What will be the dominant trends in the packaging sector in 2024? What else can we expect? ⤵️ ⏩ Mono-material packaging makes an entrance The packaging industry is gradually transitioning from multi-material packaging to mono-material technologies, enabling more convenient recycling with existing infrastructure. ⏩ Innovative labels of the future By 2024, there will be substantial advancements in the technologies employed to produce materials used for label production. These will likely have a favourable impact on recycling practices, which have become increasingly critical in the current economic climate, especially within the circular economy. ⏩ Bioplastic on the rise Consumers are demanding renewable alternatives to plastics made from fossil fuels. As a result, bioplastic production is experiencing a surge in popularity despite facing high production costs and regulatory obstacles. Notably, the forthcoming changes are directing us towards a more sustainable future. The objective is for packaging to not only function as a tool for preserving and shipping products but also as a critical element in pursuing a sustainable economy and environmental conservation.
