Winning Wednesday #2: Spilling Hot Tea From the Sunshine State 🫖 🍋 🚀 June 2024 was one of the most demanding and growth-accelerating months of my professional career. I genuinely appreciate the acknowledgment, but the mug tells the real story… “May spontaneously start creating a new SOP right here, right now.” 🚀 This perfectly captures the agility and dedication that defined our department’s Q2 2024 performance. As a leader, amid tremendous change and acceleration, I’ve never felt so seen! Thank you to Natalie Dawson, Heather Block, and Lisa De Rosa, CFM, FMP, SFP, CM-Lean, for sharing their invaluable insights with me at EXACTLY the right time. A weekend spent soaking up everything these ladies had to impart levelled my leadership game forever. During a season of transition and reinvention, our success was rooted in the repeatable processes we had in place (and simultaneously improved or implemented on the go) to ensure we continued to deliver excellence. 🚀 We updated our existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet the business’s evolving needs and raise the bar in serving our clients—sometimes almost hourly. An SOP for creating and implementing new SOPs became something we relied on just as frequently. Structure equals success. SOPs aren’t just about efficiency; they’re about ensuring consistency and quality, even when everything around you changes (including amid a tropical storm—this was the most minor thing we encountered, but new territory for a prairie girl). That mug represents a win surpassing Q2, June or 2024—for our team, clients, the business, and me.

Happy Monday, and welcome to a new week! As leaders, our words hold power, but our actions hold more. It's not what we say, but what we do that truly matters. Do we follow through on our commitments? Do we show up when we say we will? Or do we consistently show up late, like the leader who says "meet me at 3pm" but arrives at 4pm? Our actions shape the culture and behavior of those around us. As the saying goes, "children learn by observing, not just listening." If a child grows up in an environment where people struggle to walk, they may find it challenging to learn to walk themselves. Let's lead by example and practice what we preach. Let's show up on time, follow through on our promises, and demonstrate the behaviors we expect from others. By doing so, we create a culture of trust, accountability, and excellence. Let's make this week count and lead with integrity!

Division Director's New Week Message Good evening, leaders. No matter the existing situation, it's up to us to create a life worth living, a day at a time. A life worth living isn't only a life that's perfect with all our ducks in rows. It's a life where we are inspired, motivated and grateful despite what we encounter from the mixed bag of human existence. The best part is that we mustn't achieve glorious things first for life to be worth living - it's in the simple things. And here are ten such things we can start doing immediately: - Get up early. - Be grateful for what you have. - Move your body. Any type of exercise is fine. - Get some sunlight. - Do something that's productive. - Do something you enjoy.
