“The fish are plentiful, and they’re hungry. They like to eat, so you don’t have to be an expert, you don’t have to sneak up on them all the time … We have some exceptional guides here that can give you great instruction, and they’re pretty much on a first name basis with most of the fish out here, so they can show you where the fish are.”

My job offers heartfelt fun and learning with neighbor clients near the water. However, when fishing becomes the topic, it's all serious talk! 🎣 🌊 Client Wisdom of the Month: Living near water requires mastering two key skills: 1. Reading tides and currents 2. January is the month for holidays, for relaxing, for contemplation. For me that involves spending time at Port Stephens out on the water trying to skillfully convince a succulent fish to hop onto my line. As anyone knows such an exercise involves a great deal of patience. As I have sat in the sun replenishing my stocks of vitamin D, it occurred to me that business development for accountants is a lot like fishing. #Accountants #BusinessDevelopment

Dockside market is a hidden gem
It's the start of Seafood Week in Whatcom County! From Sept. 23-30, we’re celebrating our incredible maritime culture and the importance of local, sustainable fishing practices. We’d like to shout-out the vendors at Dockside Market. By choosing local seafood, you’re supporting our community and helping to protect our vital water resources for future generations. Visit the Dockside Market on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month to further support sustainable fishing. A big thank you to all our dedicated vendors! Don’t forget to say hi to our Port employees for Day on the Bay September 28th! We’ll be at the Bellingham Shipping Terminal where you can tour our facilities, learn about exciting Port projects, and meet longshoremen and community members creating a better Port of Bellingham.

Following from thoughts on What did it take for homesteaders to grow, process, and preserve enough food to survive winter? And How would we contend without our supermarket preserved and packaged world? This question started several discussions. How better to benefit from the sunshine that annually renews our food supply? Would diving further into this topic be interesting?

Principle 3: Arouse in the other person an eager want. We are well aware that when going fishing, we need to bring bait instead of our favorite food, and getting along with others is the same. We need to consider each other's needs and help them get what they want
