Today we celebrate 10 Years!!
Worthy Parts started in 2014 when founder Michael Worthington could not believe the amount of waste which was happening in the mining sector. He came up with an idea to recoup some money from leftover or redundant parts which accumulate in workshop stores all over the industry.
Launching a mining equipment e-commerce website has led the Kalgoorlie Boulder business to take an active role in the global sales market. Michael and Jaymi Worthington are now proud to bring up 10 years in business in 2024.
A qualified tradesman - Michael, who was leading a workshop team at a mining equipment service repairer in the Goldfields, could not believe the amount of waste happening in the sector. He wanted to create an option for businesses to re-sell their inventory with confidence. This process also leads to less environmental impact, with many parts getting another life and not being sent to the scrap heap.
The business credits its success by establishing itself as a vendor to many of the major mining companies and contractors, allowing products to be offered to a wider audience, by falling in line with industry trading terms.
From the initial start of Worthy Parts, the business has flourished with the business creating off shoot divisions and now holding a parent company – Worthy Group.
A major highlight across the 10 years in business has been the Mining Legends project. Taking a Caterpillar R2900G Underground Loader requiring a mid life rebuild, undertaking the rebuild with donated parts and services and then selling the loader to donate the finds to charity. This project resulted in nearly $1 million being donated to the Goldfields Esperance Community Trust, Miners Promise and many charities benefitting from the massive project.
Although 10 years has arrived quite quickly, the whole of group approach is only in its infancy. With the solutions focused Worthington, concentrating on ensuring clients have a range of options with Worthy Group to provide services to maintain maximum productivity and minimal touch points for clients.

I'm excited to share this case study showcasing how Selwood Housing has successfully implemented Vericon Systems' solution to mitigate damp and mould risk. With this innovative approach, RP's can now effectively get an "Early Warning System" for #dampandmouldrisk. This solution is a game-changer for the industry and can revolutionize the way we approach damp and mould prevention. https://lnkd.in/gBCE27fy
🌍 International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action 🌍
Here are ten actions you can take:
1. Explore the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) website and read the Landmine Monitor's annual report to stay informed.
2. Join an ICBL campaign in your country or start one.
3. Encourage governments to fulfil their Mine Ban Treaty obligations by 2025.
4. Use the ICBL's tips and templates to send a lobbying letter to your government about the Mine Ban Treaty's implementation or universalisation.
5. Meet with decision-makers responsible for mine action and victim assistance, urging them to expedite landmine clearance and support victims.
6. Use local media and social networks to raise awareness.
7. Organise events like photo exhibitions, awareness days, or letter-writing campaigns, especially on key dates related to the Mine Ban Treaty.
8. Follow the ICBL on social media, share their posts, and subscribe to their newsletter to join the conversation online.
9. Engage on campuses through campaigns, presentations, art exhibitions, or vigils to raise awareness about the impact of landmines.
10. Every contribution helps support the ICBL's advocacy efforts. Consider donating!
Together, we can support the rights of landmine victims and work towards the complete eradication of landmines.

This has to be one of the coolest feelings - a founder using his own platform to accomplish a goal (spoiler alert). I met with a lot of Smeeple experts who helped me get back into shape, work on my agility, and improve my diet. My question for you is: What do you want to do? You can.
Please share this amazing journey!
I just want to put out a quick thank you. Jason has never met me personally, we've done some small amount of work together and sure we've chatted on the phone, LinkedIn, etc. but I just have to say thank you to Jason for doing me an absolute solid. One of the test spools we sent to Stress Engineering Services, Inc. for our certification wasn't needed, so that left me with a choice. Pay to send it back, or throw it out. Throwing it out was never really an option, and I didn't want it sent back so the folks at PRCI - Pipeline Research Council International, namely Lance Abney, FMP have offered to house the high pressure spool alongside our low pressure spool that already sits in the PRCI lab, used for a demonstration we did last year at PRCI. I'm in Alberta so I can't pick up the spool and drop it off, and I don't know a single local trucking company. I reached out to Jason to see if he could connect me with someone to pick up/drop off the spool, and Jason offers to take the time out of this day to do it himself.
This is great for me for obvious reasons, but in the last 7 years since I started this company, I can't tell you how many people, individuals and companies have simply gone out of their way to help, for the sake of helping someone out with no obvious return on the kindness. That's what this industry shows me every. single. day. This is the attitude of most in this industry, not all, but most, and I love it!
Thanks Jason, people can literally put their hands on our technology in another country which helps Total Containment Inc. in a whole host of ways. Getting this tech out and in the ground is not going to be easy, in fact, it's absolutely brain cramping if I'm being completely honest. I appreciate these moments along the way, I appreciate the selflessness behind these moments and the desire we all have (some in greater quantities than others for sure), to help someone succeed. My road is absolutely PAVED with moments like this and I am so grateful for all of it.

🚨 Urgent Appeal: Save Calvert Exmoor – We Need Your Help! 🚨
As the Operations Manager at Calvert Exmoor, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our guests. For nearly three decades, we’ve been a sanctuary for individuals with physical, sensory, behavioral, and learning disabilities—offering them experiences that bring joy, freedom, and a sense of belonging. But today, I’m reaching out because we’re facing a crisis that threatens everything we’ve built.
This year has been especially tough. The South West tourism sector has taken a hard hit from bad weather and the pull of overseas travel, while inflation has driven up the costs of running our centre—everything from food to fuel to wages. Despite our best efforts, these pressures are pushing us to the brink.
The thought of closing our doors is heartbreaking. Our dedicated team could lose their jobs, but even more devastating is the impact this would have on our guests and the animals that make Calvert Exmoor so special. Our horses, who play a crucial role in our therapeutic riding sessions, would need to be re-homed. These horses have formed deep bonds with our guests, providing not just physical therapy but emotional support as well. Re-homing them would be a tragedy for both the animals and the people who rely on them.
For many of our guests, Calvert Exmoor is more than just a place to visit; it’s a lifeline. One guest shared, “There’s a wonderful, warm atmosphere, and we always feel so safe and welcome here.” For others, it’s the only escape they have from the challenges of daily life.
We cannot let this happen. To keep our doors open and our horses safe, we need to raise £500,000 by August 31st, 2024.
Here’s how you can help:
Spread the Word: If you have media contacts or know someone who can help raise awareness, please connect us.
Share Your Story: If Calvert Exmoor has made an impact on you or someone you know, your story could inspire others to support us.
Contribute Your Expertise: If you have experience with crowdfunding, we’d greatly appreciate your advice.
This is a fight for our community, our team, and our beloved animals. We need your help to save Calvert Exmoor. Every share, connection, and donation brings us one step closer to securing our future.
Thank you for standing with us. 🙏

🪖WIN WITH TIN🥫 (USA🇺🇸, 1942-1945).
During World War 2, as demand for metal surged for military purposes, the production of tin cans faced a threat.
In response, civilians across the United States launched a nationwide effort to collect and recycle tin cans🥫, ensuring a steady supply for the war effort.
Under the slogans "Win with Tin" or "Throw your Scrap into the Fight!" Americans enthusiastically participated in scrap drives, gathering empty cans from households, businesses, and public spaces.
Schools, churches, and community organizations organized collection campaigns, encouraging citizens to donate their used cans for recycling.
The significance of tin can recycling extended beyond material conservation.
It symbolized solidarity and patriotism, with civilians actively contributing to the war effort on the home front. By saving cans, Americans demonstrated their commitment to supporting troops and ensuring their well-being amid wartime challenges.
Ultimately, the collective effort to recycle tin cans during WW2 exemplified the power of mobilization and unity in times of crisis, even through small but impactful actions like saving metal cans.

🚨 Urgent Appeal: Save Calvert Exmoor– We Need Your Support! 🚨
We are facing an immediate and critical financial crisis. Without raising £500,000 by August 31st 2024, we will have no choice but to close our doors forever.
🔍 The Challenges We Face:
🌧️Decline in Tourism: The South West tourism sector has been hit especially hard this year by weather issues and increased competition from overseas travel.
💸 Inflationary Pressures: The costs of running our centre have risen sharply due to inflation. Essentials like food, fuel, maintenance, and wages have all become more expensive, putting a strain on our finances.
Our situation is dire. More importantly, our guests will lose a vital offering. Calvert is much more than a mere break from routine. Our centre is a sanctuary of warmth and inclusion in a world where many feel left out due to dwindling services and opportunities. 🌟
Here’s How You Can Make a Difference:
🤝 Support and Donate: Share our campaign within your network, reach out to potential large donors, and connect with high-profile decision-makers who might be able to help. And please donate here: https://lnkd.in/ezuTabJZ
🗞️ Media Contacts: Do you have connections in media who could help raise awareness of our campaign? We need to get the word out to as many people as possible.
✍️ Impact Stories: If Calvert Exmoor has touched your life or the life of someone you know, we would love to feature your story. Your personal experiences can inspire others to contribute.
This is a community effort. We need a viral campaign to reach our goal and secure the future of Calvert Exmoor. Every share, every connection, every piece of advice helps. 🙌
Together, we can ensure that Calvert Exmoor continues to be a beacon of hope and opportunity for those who need it most. 🌈
Thank you for your support! 🙏
