Supposedly these elevates better future resale value compare to its ICE counterparts right? At least that's what most Banks thought as its being greener and investors must have spent millions to ensure successful development of this segment. However, EVs are more like laptops and smartphones compare to ICE for being fully electric. Electronic devices are known to depreciate in value and EVs are not exceptional. Question now is, is it a smarter move when it comes to choosing EV over ICE for your next vehicle ownership? or is it not? Note: My Apple watch looks innovative with all the sensors and trackers but dropped in value more than half in just 3-4 years with time to time frozen-screen, but my dad's Rolex from 1995 retained only 15% loss in value and still running like day one of ownership.

BNPL developed double-digit growth in the 3rd quarter of 2023, involving 52 million transactions worth RM4.3 billion! The niche facility debut under micro-lending segment surely in-trend and not going anywhere soon. With digital application and seamless accessibility right from your finger-tip via mobile devices, BNPL and similar lending size and arrangement have gain its popularity and indeed, caught the interest of BNM. Hence, the Consumer Credit Act (CCA) currently is being drafted to impose tighter regulations on credit providers, particularly those offering BNPL services. In my opinion, despite the evolving CCA and terms and conditions surrounding it, BNPL provider can continue to grow and personally i wish to see following offerings in the future: Ultra-Flexible Payment Schedule Options: Allow users to re-customize their repayment schedule within preset parameters (from monthly to bi-weekly etc) for greater flexibility and control over repayments. According to the Kenanga Research , BEV new registrations in Malaysia have leapt from 274 units in 2021 to over 3,400 units in 2022, and further 10,159 units in 2023. This is on track to meet national target for EVs and hybrid vehicles of 15 percent of total industry volume by 2030, and 38 percent by 2040. As at November 2023, there are 1,430 EV charging points in operation across 620 locations within Malaysia, up by 184 from the 1,246 points in September 2023. Malaysia’s aimed of deploying 10,000 charging stations by 2025, with 9,000 AC chargers and 1,000 DC fast chargers. While this sounds challenging, this number will be significant to realize the growth of EV market. Note: As DC chargers as we know now can charge EV up to 80% under 30 minutes, perhaps more charging points can change future EV drivers who are in doubt of owning one.
